It's hard to find anyone with better recent form than Stuart Law. And he's retiring from Australian cricket soon.

He's smashing them around like there's no tomorrow in the ING Cup and his recent Pura form is faultless.

Queensland are 2/85 after 23 overs with Maher on 37 n.o. and Law, a run-a-ball 21 n.o.
-------------

3/167 in the 48th. over. Maher is 85 n.o.

The Bulls made 362 from 92.1 overs. Maher made 92 an Taylor took 3/99.

With only an over to face, The Warriors weren't prepared to risk Hussey so Edmondson went out to face Andy Bichel. He lasted 2 balls. Stumps.

5/339 as North brings up his century. Meuleman is 36 n.o.
------------------

5/345 at stumps and only 17 behind. This will be good news to Tassie who spent the day in the field chasing leather as The Bushrangers racked up 1/312.

It is also good news for Victoria as QLD are more of a threat than Tasmania.

Bichel (3/117) claimed North (130) and Mueleman (50) after they had scored 150 for the 6th. wicket.

They are now 7/429 and 67 ahead.
------------------------------------------------------

At lunch, W.A. is 7/461 and 99 agead. Campbell is once again embarrassing the selectors over their choice of Haddin ahead of him. He's 47 n.o. from 37 balls.

If they don't declare, expect some more fireworks from this exciting player.

Law and Perren batter Western Australia

Wisden Cricinfo staff

Stuart Law gave the Gabba crowd a send-off to remember, as he equalled Matthew Hayden's record of 24 Pura Cup centuries to breathe new life into Queensland's crucial clash against Western Australia.

Law, who has announced his retirement from Australian state cricket, almost broke down in tears as he batted through his final innings in a first-class match at Brisbane. By the close, he had reached 126 not out, after adding 222 for the second wicket with Clinton Perren (82 not out).

"I nearly burst into tears," admitted Law, who will complete his career with Lancashire. "Today was just a great way for me to say thanks to the Brisbane people who have supported me. The fairytale is not quite complete but there's room for it at the moment."

Queensland had appeared down and out when they conceded a first innings deficit of 161, and Martin Love's latest batting failure merely compounded their struggles. He was trapped lbw by Darren Wates for a first-ball duck, and with Jimmy Maher sidelined with a hamstring injury, Queensland were effectively 2 for 0. But Law, who has scored 865 runs at 72.8 already this season, attacked from the outset to bring up his 100 from 114 balls.

It was a batsman's day. Western Australia's wicketkeeper-batsman Ryan Campbell belted 91 from 72 balls to put the finishing touches to a massive first-innings total of 523. Andy Bichel had earlier ended a a match-turning 150-run stand with a sharp return catch off Scott Meuleman (50). He followed up by removing Marcus North (130 from 219 balls) with a superb off-cutter in his next over.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Law continues on his merry way. 157 n.o. as The Bulls move on to 1/263.

Perren is 91 n.o. and they lead by 102.

Perren goes to 101 n.o. and the partnership reaches 285. Law is 163 n.o.

What a fairytale last innings (at the Gabba) from Stuart Law. 203 !!

He shared a 369 run second wicket partnership with Clinton Perren (141)

Law indelibly etched his name in Queensland cricket history when he captained them to a long awaited Sheffield Shield victory in 1996/7. He repeated the dose in '99/00, '00/01 and '01/02.

Well played Stuart Law.

Test Debut: Australia v Sri Lanka at Perth, 1st Test, 1995/96 - 1 innings for 54 not out.

ODI Debut: Australia v Zimbabwe at Perth, World Series, 1994/95
Latest ODI: Australia v England at Melbourne, Carlton & United Series, 1998/99

Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy 1988
Sheffield Shield Player of the Year 1990/91
Mercantile Mutual Cup Player fo the Series 1993/94; 1995/96
Essex 1996 to 2001
Wisden Cricketer of the Year 1998
Queensland captain 1999/00 to 2001/02
Lancashire 2002

Has the fastest and second fastest centuries in the domestic one day comp.

Amazing first session Donny. 164 runs off 32 overs. Law and Perren have put some life back into this game. Pity Tasmania are playing for the draw in Melbourne. Their plans may come unstuck if Bichel & co can take 10 wickets. With Queensland's higher quotient they may leaprog Tassie into second position.

The Bulls are only 4 points adrift of Tassie, Peter, so they'll go straight into second if they get the 6 at the Gabba.
