Showers are forecast later for tonight.

Will be interesting to see if India can recover from the drubbing in the first final. I think the Aussies will wrap this game up as well but overall India should still be pleased with this tour.

Hayden is in superb touch especially off the spin bowlers. A pleasure to watch a class batsman in form.

A century for Haydos !! 95 balls with 3 sixes.

Martyn is 43 from 50 balls. 2/188 from 31. Big total coming up.
----------------------------------------------------------

Martyn moves on to 65 from 72 and Hayden, 118 from 111. Their partnership is 154 at run-a-ball.
-------------------------------------------

Marto caught in the deep for 67.
---------------------------

Hayden tries the reverse sweep to Sach and is bowled for 126. 4/248 and heading for 300+
---------------------------------------------

Martyn and Hayden did their job and got out. Now two young goers are at the crease and making hay. They've slammed on 56 from 27 balls.
--------------------------------------------------------

With 3 overs to come, 350 is not out of the question. 4/323.

Symmo is 49 from 31 balls and Clarke, 26 from 13
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Symonds gets his 50 from 32. 16 balls to come. Expect some BIG hits. Very Happy
--------------------
Only 7 from that over.

343 is the highest score in a ODI on the S.C.G.

Tendulkar to bowl the 49th over. First ball, six!. Second, 1. Symmo on strike. Six !! That's 344. 17 from the over.

Symmo goes. 66 from 39 balls. 5 balls to come and it's already a record for Sydney.
----------------------------------------

1 ball to come with Australia needing 3 to beat their own record of 359.

2 runs to Katich. 5/359. Clarke was 33 n.o. from 20 balls.

Katich slams 11 off 4 balls as th Aussies match their World Cup 2003 effort vs the Indians. Clarke finished on 33 not out. On a slowish deck, Harvey will be quite important.

Great effort by the Aussies.

I fail to see how Lehmann will get a game in that team. I think Symonds is suited to batting at the end where he can make full use of his running between wickets and his powerful stroke play.

Hopefully India can muster a good response.

JLC, your silence on Martyn's innings is deafening.

Well it was a good innings by Martyns standards but when you compare it to Hayden and Symonds it doesnt look as good. It was a useful knock for Martyn and one that will boost up his average.

He is a batsman and his job is to score runs. Its about time he turned up to work and earned his money....lol Lets see if he can score runs consitently in Sri Lanka where the bowling attack and conditions will be slightly different.

It was an intelligent and invaluable innings in the circumastances. He kept his head and rotated the strike for the on-fire Hayden.

His knock made it possible for Symonds to play the innings he did in the favourable circumstances. Would Symonds have been able to play in the same cavalier manner had he been coming in at 3 or 4 for 100 or so rather than 3 for 220 ??

Um well Symonds did in the World Cup.......lol

The liability can catch and what a catch it was. Reminded me of the Mark Waugh days. Big wicket in Shewag.
