Wise has certainly impressed since coming in to the Bushies lineup this season. One for future selection in the big time ?

Top effort from The Bushies.

White took 3/24 and McDonald bowled a good spell with 2/24 from his 10 overs.

The Bushies are charging towards a bonus point as they near their target.

Elliott was run out for 65 and Hodge is on 63 n.o. as the win comes up.

Vic inflicts crushing defeat on Tas

Fox Sports

VICTORIA stepped up its push for a berth in the ING Cup final with a crushing eight wicket victory over Tasmania at Devonport Oval today.

The Bushrangers reeled off the paltry 163 runs needed for victory in 37.4 overs, picking up five competition points to climb to second place on the ladder with 15 points, behind Western Australia on 19.

NSW is running third on 14, but has played one game less.

Desperate for a win after four one-day losses from as many matches, the Tigers were rolled in 43 overs after being sent in to bat, surrendering their last five wickets for just 14 runs.

Victorian leg-spinner and skipper Cameron White bagged the prized scalps of former Australian allrounder Shane Watson (32) and captain Dan Marsh (27) and was named man-of-the-match with the tidy figures of 3-25 off six overs..

In reply, former Test opener Matthew Elliott top-scored for Victoria with 65 including five fours and one six before being run out while consistent performer Brad Hodge was unbeaten on 63.

Australian one-day team allrounder Ian Harvey was an early casualty, caught behind by Sean Clingeleffer off Scott Kremerskothen for 12.

Earlier first-year player Travis Birt opened the batting for Tasmania, moving up the order in the absence of injured fellow left-hander Michael Di Venuto.

He made a solid start, racking up 28 with two fours and one six, before being caught by Shane Harwood off Ian Hewett who was making his first appearance for Victoria in 13 months after being plagued by injury.

Top-scorer Michael Dighton, whose opening partnership with Birt yielded 59 runs, was caught behind by Michael Roach for 33.

White has taken a further step towards representative honours.

MacGill must be on thin ice to be Warne's back up to Sri Lanka and Hogg doesn't compare well to White except maybe in experience.

White won another Man of the Match award today, for his bowling, and his batting is already superior to Hoggy's.

I'd like to see Warne, White and Hauritz all go to on the S.L. tour.

The thing is for some reason White sees himself as a batsman more than a bowler. If White was smart he would improve his bowling as its easier to get a gig in the test and one day teams that way and his batting would be a bonus.

Maybe you know him, JLC, to say that but as far as I know he's a bowling all rounder.

Lol. "If White was smart he would improve his bowling" He's bloody 20 years old. What do you suggest he does ? Take a pill ?

He's improving all the time and it's not by accident.

White has stated many times that he wants to be a batting all rounder and has been wanting Hooksy to promote him up the batting order. It is a bit of a misconception that he is a bowling allrounder.

Maybe he is saying it to take the pressure off him as a bowler ??

It beats the hell out of me why Tassie still play One Day Cricket, they've proven they can't do that good in it. Maybe Australia should add Bangladesh so Tassie has someone to beat Wink
