Reported in the Herald-Sun today...

Collingwood has shelved plans to give Pants' number 42 to our first draft pick after meeting with his family yesterday...

This whole affair was a mess - but I can't believe all the fuss it has caused... oh well!

Take out the word "family" and replace it with "Club 42" the lucrative coterie group.

The almighty $$$$ speaks loudest again at Collingwood.

What is the stuff up Culprit?? They were going to do something they thought was a good idea and when they found that most people disagreed so they had the humility to back down- you can be so negative!

I was all for it as I was led to believe Millanes family was right behind it, after their disapointment got aired yesterday all I can say it was a complete stuff up.

Not negative, disapointed there is a difference.

Yeah, good on them for backing down on it. If Millane's family didn't want it, then it is the right thing to do.

What ********!! So Millane's family are responsible for the running of Collingwood are they?

I'd rather see 42 again to let future players and supporters of the club celebrate his life. If 42 is kept in the closet, then all we'll have are sorrowfull memories of his death.

The tradition and fabric of Collingwood is better served by allowing Darren to be celebrated, not mourned. It serves no purpose to carry on with this madness.

BRING BACK 42!!!!
