So good to see him really finding another level on the eve of the finals. He would have got a huge shot of confidence out of his game last night. He was always going to be more than just a goalsneak with his creativity and disposal.
But really this thread is just an excuse to give him another nickname (for anyone who knows the old tune Diddy Wah Diddy) - fits well, I think

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This kid is a jet and will be our x-factor in finals. He's just starting to warm up!! _________________ My oxygen is Collingwood. Without it I die.

Playing half forward/wing certainly give him more space. Call me silly but i reckon MM has been preparing some players for these last few weeks and the finals.
Eg bucks being rested at times, didak and shaw of the bench. |

Could we have unearthed a new wingman??? Maybe not for this year, but the idea of a huge pre-season and a Dides that is midfield fit for 2004 is pretty exciting. He will still kick goals...and his disposal is withoubt going over the top, up there with Bucks!
Im rapt for him that he could get a game like Saturday night under his belt before the finals campaign, 20 + touches and good hard in and under work.
I agree with Blanch, and think that he, along with one H.Scotland could be the difference in whether we are remembered as premier or pretender!

A Diddy's 2nd half v Crows was good as well. I guess the confidence he got from that game rolled into the Swines game. Good to see.
Hope he continues to play well for finals a la the Wizz Fizz Cup. He dominated then & it would be handy to add another bow to our arsenal.

Spot on Ev5, amazing what abit of confidence and a feel for the leather can do to so called out-of-touch players. While not considering myself anywhere near an expert in the art of coaching, I would not be at all suprised if MM told Alan he would be spending a full 4 quarters on the park, and to just back himself. Hasn't been benched in the last 2 weeks, and look at the results!!! Who will Essenscum line up on him???
As for the rest, Flethcer for Taz, Jacobs possibly Rocca, Bolton Molloy?/Fraser. I think Taz will have a day out, he's due and the wide open spaces and a dry weather (fingers crossed) will suit him. Not to mention hes too quick for Fletcher.
If Taz and Ant can break even with the Velvet Sledgehammer, we will win and win well, as I think we have more scoring options that the Bombers, who rely alot on Lloyd and possibly CupiDoll. |

Didy is a great nickname for Alan Didak.
I especially love yelling out "That's Tidy Didy" when he does something well during a match. BTW I have filed for copyright on that phrase.
Anyway back to the point good to see him string together a couple of good games. He is definitely a class act and someone who will only get better with time and as he gets used to having the number 1 small defender. |

The Bummers will put Lucas on Rocca, the prick always seems to play well against us, but we'll save all that for the Official pre-game thread...
I've called him A Diddy since early last year when a mates 4yo nephew called him that when he saw "Puff Daddy/P Diddy" on TV. _________________ Ohhhh the premierships a cakewalk for the good old COLLINGWOOD |

Shakin' and bakin' like he was the king
Singing Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do
He ran left (ran left)
He ran right (ran right)
He ran left he ran right then he kicked it out of sight

That's brilliant Cam. Probably more catchy than the original blues howler Diddy Wah Diddy, first done by Bo Diddley and later by Captain Beefheart (music nerd, sorry)
This little girl's as sweet as she can be
I know she's in love with me
Lovely thing, she's so pretty
She lives way down in diddy-wah-diddy
(deep blues growl) Diddy-WAH! Diddy-WAH!
Tess, I'm sure you can come up with a good variation on this
Anyone who wants to put Diddy-Wah-Didak on a banner/cheer squad flag, I salute you (oh yeah, put Thanks The Weed on the back )!
Have fun down in Diddy-WAH,

Daks is how he is known at the Club.
Dids is how he known on the fansites because of those with that username.
Diddles is one of the many things the Pink Magpies call our little man.
One of the chants for him is....Wheres your didak wheres your didak, ala wheres your heart at. But I prefer this new one the Weed has come up with. |
The best I have heard during a game is " No Legs"...a guy on Sat night in Syd kept on screaming " kick the goal no legs" & " How can a guy with no legs kick the bloody ball let alone kick it long".....very funny stuff LOL _________________ Go You Pie Boys !!!

I think one of Daics old nick names was "Sawn-Off".
Maybe that could catch on. "Sawn-Off Didak"???
Although I think we should stick with Dides. |
