Can any one tell me how this guy is still in the team? the last few weeks he has been insipid and he's just taking up a place in the team that a quality player like leon or one of the youngsters could have.

This opinon of yours probably wont be favoured on this board.
However I agree with you and have been saying it for weeks.
Id love for him to prove me wrong but atm he is soft, I never see him go in for the ball and he just doesn't do enough.
The thing is MM LOVES him so it's hard to see him dropped.
Bring back leon!

Williams was incredibly gutsy until he got badly hit a few weeks ago and suffered a punctured lung. He was rushed back too early IMO and hasn't been the same player since.

Magpie Greg, I am getting used to you beating up on Leon Davis but he is too skilled to be out for too long. MM said this week he would walk into any side (including ours) most weeks, but has been sent back to Willi to work on other areas of his game - as has happened to plenty of others. He'll be back.

Agreed magpie greg. Williams hasn't had the best season, but is miles ahead of davis.

Davis cant back it up.

What MM says doesnt change my opinion. This is the coach who took to R20 to put Scotland back in the side after 8 weeks.

Well, you certainly have an impressive ability to judge character from afar, Magpie Greg, and you obviously don't lack ego, since you seem to think you can do a better job than the man in charge. Can you back it up?

By the way, Brodie Holland was pretty popular trade bait round these parts 12 months ago.

Well, I would think saying someone is big-headed because you see him do a finger-waggle would qualify as a judgement on character. (Plenty of other players celebrate a goal too.) But is that really a reflection on the man? I'm just saying, don't be so quick to judge, is all.

Adkins is gone. This is nothing to do with him. It's about the players on our list. Molloy, Davis McGough and other Williamstown boys are surely pushing for selection. I reckon we should give em a go at Williams expense.

I am not sure how much game time Williams is getting but he hasn't had a huge impact over the last month.
His stats from his last 4 matches show this:
Vs Carlton 9 disposals 1 tackle 1 goal.
Vs Geelong 3 disposals 0 tackles 0 goals.
Vs Brisbane 6 disposals 1 tackle 1 goal.
Vs Adelaide 9 disposals 1 tackle 0 goals.
That really isn't enough IMO to justify his place in the team.

I hope he gets better but at this rate i'd rather see someone else get a go.

If Williams is still hurt then I can accept his poor form.
But that would pose the question. Why are we playing an injured player when we have fit blokes dieing to get a game?

Maybe we're bagging Williams too soon. After all its just his 1st season at Collingwood. I think Davis has done ok in the games he's played.
We must remember that not all players can have a great season every season.

He is getting tagged each week due to his early form. He must be doing everything MM wants or else he would not be out there. His form is down as far as I can see, but he is not teh lone ranger in that. Cole, Mckee & Walker played worse when they were on the ground.

Molloy, Rup, Mcg & Leon are all pressing for senior selection.

Against the swans we need pace so I cannot see williams being dropped.
