When Taz took that mark, I had goosebumps, and was jumping up, like all those behind the goal.
When we win a game that no one gave us any credit for......the victory we feel!
It's like how the old time Romans must have felt when you had to cheer for your guy.......its like that you had fought the fight yourself and won.

I have a friend who doesn't have that passion for any thing, and to try to describe the over whelming warmth and happiness I feel when we win, or even just take a great mark, or a fantastic passage of play, it seems impossible to convay these feelings.

That feeling we all had when we beat Port at AAMI in the final last year....... its just a proud warm feeling that takes over your whole body.

How do you tell someone who doesn't follow football????????

[ ps. I am working on making her a Collingwood supporter, planning on taking her to the next game Collingwood play at AAMI.]

You don't have to explain, just take her to as many Collingwood matches as you can, and let her see how it affects you, it rubs off on them.

My boss at work, hated footy and anything to do with footy. Her 5 year old son, decided he liked Collingwood, so his godmother bought him a Buckley Brigade membership (and she's a Carlton supporter, but very close to taking out Collingwood Membership too now....lol)....now my boss takes her son to the footy, loves watching collingwood, and i just sent her Athas' latest screensaver and I couldn't believe how quick she was to put it up as her wallpaper..like i said.......it rubs off on them Smile

Everyone's passionate about something. Be it Football, Music, Movies or Chocolate. Find out what they're passionate about and relate that to your obvious passion for Footy. Then they will have an understanding of how you feel.

Try and relate it to something that they are passion about and you will convey it more effectively to them.

My girlfriend never followed footy. She wanted Collingwood to win because she knew it made my day. However, last year’s finals series really changed her forever. I took her along to Vic Park the day after the GF, and she was overwhelmed by the emotion of it all - she even joined in the chants and club song (and hinted to me that she wouldn’t be upset if someone ever bought her a Collingwood jumper). A few months later she received a brand new Collingwood jumper from me for her birthday and she is now a true fan. Collingwood is infectious.
