Co Victorian Premiership contender Essendon has suffered a major blow with the news Ramas season is over. They have found a second tumour. I hope he is ok even if he does play for another club.

Good player and a huge blow for the bummers.

Apparently the tumour is "benign but locally aggressive" (no, I haven't heard that one before either). He is expected to make a full recovery but I was still worried by the news. All the best Rama - let's see you back on the park next year.

get well soon Rama..even though we gave Essendon the draft pick to get you (if my memory serves me correctly), you sort of hope of like hammys for some players but u dont want that kind of thing to happen to anyone

Very sad news, wouldn't wish something like that one anyone, let alone any AFL footballer. According to the news, his career could end up being over. Hopefully all will go well and he will be back running around for the Bombers.

Apparently the operation failed to get the tumour out. Hopefully they can find a way of getting it out. Be good to see him back playing AFL as soon as possible as he is only young and has a good football future ahead of him.

If you're referring to Steven Lawrence, Tess (I presume you are) is that really the right comparison? Lawrence obviously has his troubles, but he wears some responsibility for his predicament, unlike Ramanauskas. I'm glad St Kilda are helping him get his off-field act together, but I don't expect them to keep him on it.

That aside and getting back on topic, it's upsetting to see Rama has such a serious fight on his hands and it would be such a shame if this curtailed his career, because he has real talent and no one's dreams should be broken in this way.
