Post subject: Re ALL FUTURE WINNERS CIRCLE'S | |
|
The club today recieved a very nice letter from the MCC with its concerns at the location in which we hold our winners cirlce they are greatly concerned that whilst conducting the winners circle we are blocking the stairwell and the exit gates at that end of ground.
And in fairness there complaint is greatly justified we dont want to be responsible for any trouble whilst these access areas are blocked..just like we now do at telstra dome the winners circle at the MCG will be outside the ground..just on the other side of the gates.
Thanks everyone
cheers

I love watching and hearing the Winner's Circle and I understand the MCC's concerns, but (and please don't bag me out for this, just trying to be practical) when there has been a big match (and aren't all Collingwood matches big matches?) then just the other side of the gate it's almost impossible to try and get to the direction you need to go due to the crowds, having the winner's circle here, will make it virtually impossible to move.
How bout we just hold it in the middle of the G? (I'm kidding ok!) _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

good point Proud Pies.
i loooove the winner's circle, but you're right, it's normally PACKED just outside the gates at the MCG after a game. very, very hard just to move around. so i'm not sure if we could squeeze the winner's circle into such a packed space, with people moving everywhere.
where else could we do it? any suggestions? |

Outside the 'G' just like we're doing at telstra dome shouldnt be any probs, for those who were at the winners circle last week at telstra will know what im saying..it was huge and awesome, infact with the more space it was probably the biggest winners circle of all time. _________________ Collingwood today, Collingwood tomorrow,Collingwood forever... we'll always do things the collingwood way... side by side we stick together to uphold the greatest name in football.

Joffa, I've seen the winner's circle, and it's getting bigger every week (too shy to join in though), seriously, if you have it outside those gates at the G from where you normally have it inside the gates, then there will be major problems and I can see disgruntled other team supporters causing trouble, i can see little kids and older people having trouble trying to actually get OUT of the G. Maybe a bit further back towards the grass area. I'm just trying to be practical and don't want to see anybody hurt. (I can see Security and the cops too)
I'll put my crystal ball away for the night now _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

How funny. Wasnt long ago that people said the winners circle be moved and somebody stated it would never be moved under any circumstances. How times change.
Either way, best place to hold it would be between the southern and northern stands near the light tower. that way you are out of the way. _________________ We are the premiers
