RHAIN--- If I was physic I would be able to tell you but we won't know until the actual draft picks happen! It depends who the teams who have draft picks before us pick as to who we choose. I hope that we can pick up some decent talent this year!!

Our first choice in the national draft is 3rd pick behind St-Kilda Rhain.

The likely player to be picked up at 3 will probably come from the following three players.

Nick Riewoldt
Justin Koschitzke
Alan Didak

From what I have heard the St-Kilda recruiting staff want to go for Riewoldt and Koschitzke but the coaching staff would like the best tall option and the best small option.

If they decide to go that way then it would be out of
Riewoldt/Koschitzke (best two key position players)
Didak (Best Midfielder)

In the pre-season draft the bottom two clubs can sign an uncontracted player as long as they stipulate and sign a stat dec
commiting to that player. i.e Shane O'Bree.
This can be done before the pre-season draft in December, which then allows the player to start traning immediately with the club.

St-kilda has excersised that option with Brett Voss, which in turn allows us to do the same thing.

This option only works for the pre-season draft and not the October one.

Thanks

MAGPIE MANIAC - do you mean psychic?

RHAIN - do you mean pre-season or national draft?

National isn't worth really commenting on, because most picks won't show their value for 2 or 3 years (Josh & Hassleby being obvious exceptions).

As for the Pre-season, it depends who is available, which won;t be known for some time. Some of the biggest "free" names at the moment (Pike, Tingay, Ellen, etc - any opinions on these?) are nominating for the National draft, so we have to wait until after that to see who's still around for the pre-season.

The good news on pre-season is that we'll basically have a free hand on any out-of-contracts, as the Saints will commit to Brett Voss. But it's still unlear who will be the out-of-contracters - Porter & Allan have now signed.

Yeah, Broadie, I meant Physchic! Are you a Teacher? Anyway , I stand corrected.

Hey Joffa, I thought of something really hilarious - If Heatley nominates for the draft and we pick him up , wouldn't that be absolutely hysterical!!

Yep. How did it take you this long to guess? Actually, a quick scoot over to the profiles section of the BB and you can see that info there anyway.

SG: Why are you so keen on Didak?

And if we get Heatley, I'll be giving it this one:

Broadie-just because ok!

Hey dont knock Heaters. After all that abuse the unofficial cheersquad once gave him at a ressies match but yeah i guess it would be kinda funny. Remember how he actaully gave it back one day - funny bugger!
