I like to read all views about the Pies and think I am discriminating enough to make up my own mind.

I hate to hear the players being bagged , and unless the 'baggers' are privy to the coaches instructions to that player & the report from the medical rooms then they can't make an informed ' bagging ' .
I support every person who has ever pulled on a Collingwood jumper - the amount of comittment required to reach that level , sure heaps didn't make it but they don't deserve to be bagged because they didn't get the amount of God given talent of Taz or Bucks .
If supporters are really cross about a players skill levels or level of commitment maybe they should 'bag' the recruiting & coaching staff who select them .

What people forget is that Malthouse criticised us after the Lions game when I thought we weren't too bad. If Bucks and the coach can, why not us.

1. Because they are privvy to information that we aren't , ie the game plan, each players role on the day.

2. Because as stated before those 2 are in a position to be heard. Their criticism will not fall on deaf ears. Their criticism has the possibility of being constructive. Ours can never be constructive because it doesn't have the possibility of a) being listened to or b) causing a positive outcome.

That's not to say that we can't be frustrated by what we see as a poor performance. The so called "bagging" on here can only ever be a release of frustration. It will never "help" the players as none of us are in a position to (with the exception of Mrs Tarrant - if she's real, still can't make heads or tails about that).

If we are not to criticise (constructively) how can one improve? If players aren't criticised, they'll just keep doing the wrong things. Like Leon Davis. I love ya mate, but has anyone taught you what front and centre means? As a small forward, crumbing player, this should have been taught in juniors (and MM should be preaching it). We must be the only team not to adhere to such a simple philosophy. Every other team gets crumbed goals except us. Neon, stay in front of the contest as the ball approaches - don't fly for marks and don't wait for the ball at the back (the latter may reap rewards 1% of the time). I want you to be able to see Tarrant's eyes, not the back of his head.

If I don't 'criticise' Leon for his lack of forward nous, how is he to improve? (I hope he reads this site)

That folks is criticism and there is NOTHING wrong with that.
Bagging is where you say "Davis is a hack" or call him soft or say he doesnt try. That is bagging and it is NOT ON.
I have no problem with criticism but some of you clearly bag players.

Ahhhh, the time old, "I know what a real supporter is, and you don't debate".

Why should supporters not be allowed to give their opionions, constructive or otherwise? Really, if constructive criticism falls on 'deaf ears', then why aren't people allowed to vent that opinion to be heard by fellow supporters? I don't like players being bagged for no reason, just as I think players shouldn't be given a free ride.

Eh, can't be bothered writing anymore...I think we all have to agree to disagree.

Joel, you've almost got it but constructive criticism doesn't fall on deaf ears....and that's what makes it constructive. Nobody here offers constructive criticism. It's just criticism. If it was constructive then the person being criticised would realise some benefit from it.

MM gives the constructive criticism, we just criticise. MM's "constructive" gets heard, ours criticism falls on deaf ears.

An entirely different thing is bagging. Totally agree with the Lone Ranger 37 pov. My point is that nobody here can claim to stand behind the word "constructive."

Were all supporters but calling one another wankers,is this necessary.Lets stick to the topic without even getting subtly abusive.
I agree with the point why critercize,as if it gonna make any difference to the team, unless someone on here is on the coaching staff.
