|
by the end of this year.
Glenn Freeborn - no position left for him in the SNR's
Rupert Betheras - same as the above
Steven McKee - Changing of games rules have pushed him out
Mark Richardson - Slow and old
Heath Scotland - Trade him... Has ability but too many players seem to be ahead of him.
Ben Johnson - Turns the ball over to much. Prefer Rhyce shaw; who has better kicking skills anyway. |

dunno, i have rethought my position on Betheras after watching him play for Willi. He only does little things, but maybe thats what we are missing. If you do play him of course you have to give him ground time, and although he might not be in the best 22 he may be able to get 6 or so games in place of some others he need a dose of reality - eg Mr Didak, Mr Davis, Mr Williams and maybe Mr Rocca. Mr Davis needs to bloody crumb, been saying this fo 2 years now. If he can't crumb for the ones maybe he will learn to crumb for the Gulls. |

Freezer, Richo and maybe Scotty out of that list.
I don't see the others going anywhere. |

There is no chance of Collingwood getting rid of Ben Johnson at the end of the year because he is clearly in our best 18 and has been for the last year and a half. |

Im pretty sure Freeborn is joining the fire brigade and has already been told he wont be getting another senior game this year unless we have heaps of injuries etc.
I think we may be active in trading given the room in the salary cap that we will have.

It’s just my opinion - magpie_1983 – I don’t mean to be cruel to these boys… because; truth be told… I love and worship all the Collingwood players… but you have to be hard and objective to be successful |

Changes will be made no doubt.I just want to see 18 blokes give 100% every week.
If a bloke doesnt get a kick, yet he is willing to tackle, smother, shepherd and chase I would play him before the most skillful of players.
These one percenters will win you game consistently where as the pretty stuff wont. |

changes do need to be made, but freeborn and scotland deserve a go. the game against geelong was won on burnsie and freeborn working together in the middle. then 2 weeks later he got dropped when there were clearly others who had played worse. for willi he plays in defence and cuts the opposition up. scotland again deserves a go, yesterday he was on the bench most of the game. im sick of people bagging him when he is a good user of the footballer and goes in and gets the football. they are both quality players and do not get a go.

Very tough on Rupe, has had limited opportunities this year.
Scotland is a good player, why get rid of him, depth is handy.
Roids needs to learn how to kick. Maybe he will learn maybe not. I certainly remember Presti turning the ball over frequently earlier in his career.
Anyway maybe even better is that some bandwagon supporters are gone already. Shut the door as you leave would you please. _________________ Go Pies! |

We wont get rid of Scotland he will ask the club to traded him because MM wont give him a go.
McGough might also be put up for trade bait because we need to add some speed to our midfield |

still early to say who'll be traded, delisted etc....
Although Freeborn and Richo just don't have time on their side anymore.
Better to have a topic like this at the END of the season when you can put 22 weeks(hopefully 26 weeks of footy into perspective). Because obviously people's opinions will change of some players if we make finals and obviously these players play well. |

Apparently Freeza is going to be retiring at the end of the season.
The only one I disagree with is Scoots. Heath is a quality player (as mentioned) but I disagree that there are 'too many' players ahead of him. Obviously MM either hates him or he just doesn't like naturally skilled players that much, he prefers the hard working battlers.
Heath asked to be traded at the end of 2001 and I understand why. Just look at the Crows game this year, where he got 5 mins of ground time, made 1 error and was sent to the bench, he never got the chance to redeem himself, as everyone else did. It is so frustrating to see such a class player being so harshly done by as Heath is so often.
Scotland deserves more of a go than he has been given. Even on Sunday against the Hawks he was sparingly used. How can he really step up and show his value and importance to our midfield if he is the team's scapegoat every week? It makes absolutely NO sense to me whatsoever.
I know this is a fruitless argument as it seems he will never get the opportunities that he so richly deserves. But I would be sad to see him go as he would be a regular starter every week at most other clubs, and I would hate to see that talent wasted somewhere else. |
