I reckon they need to go away and think about their football. They looked very VERY tired last week, and worse. Very Very dissinterested. With the exception of Molloy, who put in contest after contest, they just didn't want it. Training extra, playing extra isn't going to help, they need to WANT it extra, they need to find a way to show that on the field. this trip may be just what they need.

Holiday? lol, they wish it was a holiday, hows a week of commitments, press the flesh, training, flying all over the place like a blue-assed fly a Holiday? they are kept busy all the time, only difference si they wouldn't have to put up with the slagging from so called supporters they'll cop if they stayed in melbourne.

Thankfully, they'll be home on Friday so that wont have any major impact on player selections for Sunday.
Speaking of which, I'll be interested to see the make-up of the side, especially with CFC having the weekend off. Will those who are struggling to get a kick (Davis, Didak, Lokan, Scotland, McGough, etc.) be given a run at Williamstown, or will the WFC match committee be given a list of available players to choose from? An interesting scenario.
Also, I wonder if players will be allowed to play this week for Williamstown, then front up again the following week against the Doggies. A couple of weeks ago, Essendon were permitted to play a player who had played a full game for Bendigo the day before, so will CFC be allowed to do the same, although a week apart. Can you imagine a Williamstown line-up featuring Woey, Lonie, Frazer, Rocca, Tarrant, Clement, Molloy, etc, to play along side West, Lloyd, Fletcher, Cranage and Dukes, with further support from Shackleton, Nixon, Scotland, and C.Cloke.
Imagine this for a VFL team line-up:
B: Cole ~ West ~ Freeborn
HB: Lloyd ~ Clement ~ Lonie
C: Cranage ~ Fletcher ~ Nixon
HF: Didak ~ Rocca ~ Scotland
F: C.Cloke ~ Tarrant ~ Davis
R: Fraser ~ Woewodin ~ Shackleton
Int: Dukes ~ Swan ~ Kinnear ~ Mahoney (and the rest).
Remember, this is just hypothetical. _________________ Whale

I think everyone's taking this waaaaaaaaaaay too seriously. OK we had a shit month or so. No need to cancel trips etc.
The only way to keep them focused is to have a few closed sessions and have them writing out lines like we used to in the school days.
Grab a pen and some paper, now write it out:
"We will not lose until March 2004" 100 times boys!

Some of you are forgetting that a football club does not revolve entirely around what happens on the field. Cancelling the trip would be incredibly short-sighted.
The trip to the NT last year was incredibly successful. Collingwood does not exactly have a proud record when it comes to race relations and this is one way of healing that breach. It's also about getting a bunch of extremely well paid young kids (who in general haven't seen a great deal of life) out into a disadvantaged community, and about giving something back to that community and to the game.
We might even get something back for our efforts in the long term. The club has been around for over a century, yet we've only got one Aboriginal player with more than 50 games experience to show for it - Leon Davis. Compared to clubs like Essendon and North/Kangaroos this is lamentable.
Let's not go back to the McAlister era.
