I don't know Alf...he does not know me.
I read and reread his posts and wondered about his thoughts.
I ask one question.
I then get sworn at , called names, and take great offence to Alf's attack on me.
Everyone has a right to different opinions.
But no one has the right to talk to me like that!!
NO ONE!! _________________ Kaylene.

The usual story: boy who belongs to group with large following has different opinion. Boy chooses to express that opinion openly in the hope of garnering intelligent discussion. Boy gets mauled by the Senator Richard Alstons running around accsuing him of being untrue and unfaithful.
Keep it up Alf! I got attacked last year in similiar yet different circumstances. I've seen it happen not only in internet forums but a whole lot of places too. Walk into a socailist alternative meeting here at uni, and it's all "We're great aren't we?", "Yep", "True" etc. Where does anybody get with that? |

Getting off the Dr Afl issue & back on to why the Saints wear Yellow, it is because of Pura milk but they did previously wear Yellow, Black & Red. It is the same as St.Kilda CC in district cricket, they wear the yellow but the Saints chose to add white instead of yellow because of the World War & political reasons & the German colours are red, yellow & black... Who really cares honestly but i thought i'd throw my two bobs worth in... _________________ Ohhhh the premierships a cakewalk for the good old COLLINGWOOD |

Having re-read my post on this matter I wish to apologise to Alf and also to the board for the inflammatory nature of the post.
While I have been reading this forum for some time now, I have rarely posted. As such no one knows me here. To introduce myself by attacking a long standing and well respected contributor is not a very good start. Further the tone and nature of my post was poorly done and unnecessary.
This is a topic I feel very passionate about. We have lost so much of what made this game so great, that I feel we need to make a stand somewhere. To me the Name, B & W colours and Magpie symbol are sacrosanct. I know my father feels the same as did my grandfather.
When I read what Alf had to say on Bigfooty I got very fired up and emotional on the issue and then posted in the heat of the moment. I should have allowed myself to calm down first. However this does not justify the tone and nature of my post which I acknowledge was wrong.
Having said all that let me reiterate that I never want to see Collingwood play in anything other than Black & White. However I understand that some supporters do not feel this way as is their right.
Anyway I apologise for the post. Lets hope the Pies win and we can all be in a far better humor come Friday night.
Go Pies. |

Thank you, gopies 2003
Your apology shows a lot of character and I appreciate it. And I also appreciate the opinion that people have about the black and white colours. A couple of years back I wouldn't have dreamed of suggesting a foreign colour in our strip. And if someone had suggested it, I probably would have reacted the way you did.
I don't think you need to worry too much about my suggestion of a red strip. There's no way it will happen.
But I believe Collingwood needs to do something. That current away strip that we wear doesn't work. But Athas Hrysoulakis came up with a brilliant idea for a compromise. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out.

As for the Pies being thrown out of the AFL ... that will never happen either. That suggestion that we should be in the Imbeciles Football League was just a bit of theatrics on my part. I guess people who know we well would have known that. But to someone not familiar with my style it would have looked like treason.
The main point of that was that we can't expect to put ourselves above the rules. As much as we love to say that we are bigger than the AFL and bigger than the game itself, it's not reality. I know it's fun to say it because I've said it myself ... many times.
A stormy introduction, I suppose. But Nick's can be like that sometimes. It keeps life interesting (doesn't it, Mike ) |

fan4collingwood,
While I'm in a conciliatory mood, I should probably send a little apology your way too.
I read a bit too much into your original question about whether my old Port allegiance was clouding my judgement. Sensitive issue. And I over-reacted. I've copped the old divided loyalty allegation maybe once too often on this site and I tend to explode when it happens.
So ... to finally answer your question ... it hasn't clouded my judgement on the alternative jumpers issue. But it has affected the way I've responded to a few people on here ... including yourself.
You didn't deserve ANY of the crap you've been getting from me in the last few days ... so please accept my humble apology.
Anyway ... having (hopefully) made my peace around here ... I'll go back to my self-imposed ban until this Port game blows over.
Now ...
... could someone please pass the iced vo vo's and hot chocolate |

Thanks for the answer Alf.
But you should try the Chocolate Teddy Bears and dip them in a glass of Port. [ and thats the only port I want to discuss with you] _________________ Kaylene.
