The following email from BananaTV is self explanatory:
Quote: | Hi Nick, my name is Ed Smith, I am a producer at BananaTV in Sydney.
BananaTV is an internet TV station that producers and broadcast original
programs on a variety of different subjects.
We have recently started a new sports show on AFL called AFL PCR. The PCR
stands for
Players, Coaches, Refs. The show will be filmed and broadcast once a week
and will look at all the
biggest and most interesting stories around. The show will be hosted by AFL
addicts Ben Williams
and Derek Otten. The show will feature many special guests and on the first
2 shows will be Adam Goodes
and Jude Bolton.
We are looking to get as many grass roots fans of the game involved with
the show
as possible that is why we wanted to get in contact with you. We would like
to hear yours and your users
views on the latest stories or any AFL related rumours that you may have
read or heard. We would like you
to send us your stories, submit questions for special guests that kind of
thing.
We would also like to get as many AFL fans to see the show as possible and
so would like to offer you
a free stream of the show to run on your site.
We would really like to get you involved with the show if possible. Please
drop me a line
if you would be interested.
Thanks,
Ed

It's interesting that these so-called 'AFL fanatics' have named their show AFL PCR - AFL Players, Coaches, Refs!!
Refs????
Refs????
What sort of AFL fanatics are these that can't even get the terminology right in the title of the show? A closer look at their website tells us. I checked the program guide - no mention of any AFL show, but they do have an ARL show (surprise, surprise).
Their first two guests are, surprisingly, Swans players.
Forgive my cynicism, it's been a long week so far this week and my tolerance has been stratched to breaking. I apologise to the few educated Sydney Pies fans who use this board.
If you are interested in checking out BananaTV their web site is http://www.bananatv.com If you think we should run a topic or forum for them in here, say so. But I believe our energy is better spent supporting Jen and Joffa in their interviews of our Magpie people. |

Ben Williams was the winner of Big Brother 1 - and he is the cousin of Stefan Carey (ex-Sydney Swans), which is about as much as he knows about AFL! He is more into rugby, and if I remember correctly, actually played for one of their district sides (like our suburban leagues).
Obviously they want us involved so they actually have some AFL knowledge on the show, cos they certainly can't provide that themselves! _________________ "I'm sure people see me as a screaming redhead with a big pair of boobs, but I like to think I've got things to say." I think a rock has more AFL knowledge. _________________ "The minute you start talking about what you're going to do if you lose, you have lost." |
