Is this poll really relevant?
This topic has been done to death since friday night and there have been a few designs laid out by a few people already.
And the general verdict was NO colour change.
The End.
PS. I just wanna add, what a time for me to come to Rugby dominated state for week(QLD), when we going into one of the biggest games of the year! No Hype! No Fanfare! No FKN ANYTHING!!!! DAMN! |

Comparisons to soccer are meaningless - Aussie Rules is the oldest footy code in the world . Geordie_matt talks of " biggest clubs with more history and more fanatical supporters "
They can't have 'more history' & although they may have more 'feral' sopporters , they can't be more fanatical .
So let the 'johhnie -come -latelys ' be they soccer clubs or Port Power change their jumpers , but we have absolutely no reason to change .
GO PIES - yep go through port like a rotten prawn |

Get back to Black shorts for home games whites shorts for away games for all teams.
Never use to be a problem. When your at the bottom of a pack trying to get the ball out, you are not looking what colour jumper they have on your looking at socks and shorts. |

I think the AFL dictate now who wears what colour shorts. Like the time Roos went orange....they got the blackshorts, while it was our home game we had to wear white shorts. _________________ Kaylene.

WRONG AGAIN, fan4collingwood. Does your ignorance know no bounds?
The famous OrangeRoos match was the Roos home game.
Whinge. Whinge. Whinge.
BOO HOO HOO ... we had to wear white shorts ... it's not fair ...
By the way, fan4collingwood ...

Showing a lot of maturity there Alf,
how can we respect your opinion in this matter when you admit you've barracked for Port Adelaide for most of your life and have only been a full-on Collingwood supporter since '97 ???

Hypothetical Scenario -
Collingwood goes an joins a competition with clubs called Norwood, Glenelg, Sturt etc etc. What chance would Collingwood have of being admitted in the comp with a predominatly black and white strip ?? What would happen if we told the Port Adelaide Magpies to change their strip ??
These people in Port Adelaide are living in a fantasy land. Eddie has every right to defend our clubs colours. Just because sell outs like StKilda change their strips doesnt mean we should have to. Whoever let Port in the competition with those colours is a moron. Based on the argument of having to use alternate strips does this mean Collingwood could design a strip similar to Sydneys and infiltrate the Sydney market on its away games??
Caroline Wilson, Kevin Bartlett and Mike Sheehan are purely jealous of Eddie IMO. Lets see their reactions if Richmond or Melbourne have to change to an alternate strip.

about time someone has used there brain and thought about it because if we could come up with a good away jumper it would be a good money earner for the club |

yeh maybe not exactly the laughing stock but crapping on about tradition is a load of BS, our jumper changes all the time, sure the B&W stripes stay but they %$^£$%^&%% around with everything else, like having dominant black on the back, sometimes a magpie on the front etc etc
hardly tradition. |

I think it's time some people grew up. History, colours, etc, are all cumulative and just because you change it for one or two weeks a year doesn't mean the legacy of years will be gone. Tradition takes time to establish, and that tradition merely replaced another tradition, or sets of behaviours
In terms of history though, that's a stupid argument because then Port may have the right of way seeing as they are older than us. As for the soccer comparison, Liverpool was also founded in 1892, is the the most succesful side in English history, and they wear an away strip.
An interesting question though, would the folks out there rather see Collingwood win a flag in a diffrent strip, or not all... |

I was wondering today, how many would accept the Aussie one day cricket team wearing anything but the green and gold uniform? Likewise for the mighty Collingwood. Black & white it is, no ifs or buts..........

Alf......you seem to be directing a lot of anger at me. I don't know what I have done to upset you, I only asked if your childhood was clouding your judgement. In reply you have told me to get *******, called me the biggest hypocrite in the world and now called me ignorant.
We all have different opinions and can agree to differ. Boards like this are for us to voice our opinions. You are getting personal and nasty. Please stop now.
