40,000 members!!!!

just came back from tonight's Legends cocktail night, where Eddie announced that we now have 40,000 members!! that is just a fantastic result....we are now the # 1 Vic club in terms of membership, and wasn't a bet made between Eddie and Sheeds about which Vic club would get to 40,000 first?? haha Smile

it was also fantastic to hear from the great Peter McKenna, who was honoured tonight as this year's Legend.

I would like to add that this 40,000 includes members from all around Australia, not just Vic. from tassie to NSW, from WA to the NT, from SA to QLD and ACT, we are the biggest club in the land!!

and also Hollywood, with Mr Rob Lowe as one of our biggest fans!! pity he wasn't there tonight, but Eddie said that it was Rob who made the call to the club as he was keen to watch a game. he also bought a lot of Pies merchandise!

I think the Crows get over 40,000 every year, we'd definitely be second highest in the Afl.

yeah I think Kenno is right. the crows usually have over 40k members, but don't forget that SA only has two teams whereas C'wood has to compete in a market with 10 other clubs.

but who knows? to achieve 40k members by the half-way mark is truly remarkable. as c'wood surges towards the finals, that number may increase so that we actually surpass the crows. esp. when people realise they need to be members to get finals tickets.

west coast are usually second with about 38k members but c'wood are definitely second now, and # 1 in Vic. up yours sheedy!
