Something special about these two players!

Tex - just runs in straight lines; into the ruck like a madman!
Lokan - Just an excitement machine…

Can Lokan be chosen for a rising star nomination?

Not sure of the exact requirements for Rising Star nomination, but I think any player with 10 games or less leading up to the current season is eligible for nomination on any given week.

Can anyone verify this?

with lokan,i love the way he runs with the ball out of the backline on saturday night, and with walker, with the few ruck contests he was involved in the centre i loved how he jumped up at the ball and tapped it a mile to our rovers, these 2 players really have something special..

cheers bryan..!!

Yeah i agree with u there P4E..
lokan and lonie are a really good tandem running out of half back to deliver to a waiting tarrant on the lead.
Walker too did a bit of the hard stuff too.
full credit to them

I don't think Rhyce qualifies because he turned 21 late last year. You have to be under 21 and have played less than 10 games at the start of a season or something like that from memory. Funny how he was on his last chance, playing like he is at the moment he'll go on to play 200 games.

Yeah, it was great seeing Walker in the ruck. Tex has a fair leap on him by the looks.

Lokan did play well on Saturday night and Rhyce's running was sensational.

The Rising Star thing seems to be overrated, look at Riewoldt, he won it last year and is getting thrashed now. Sadly, I doubt a Collingwood player would win it, seeing as I know everyone at the AFL and stuff hate Collingwood. Jealously perhaps?

yeah i was impressed by tex's performance on sat nite too - did a few nice things and made the most of his opportunities. Lokan is a gun - how good was his goal on the siren!!??

I think Collingwood should try Lokan as a forward, for half a game, to see if he can add some goals to the Collingwood line-up.

Those who were on FTO will fondly remember that I predicted nice & early that Walker will be a gun for Collingwood. Some posters laughed at me but give him time and a bit more experience and just watch the show! He will be sensational.

Prototype- I know we'll all Collingwood supporters here but don't you think you're just a tad bias about Riewolt. He was hardly thrashed on Saturday and would be in their top 2-3 players at StKilda. I would have him in a Collingwood jumper any day.

I am so sick of this Riewoldt hype. What exactly has he done to prove himself to be this next coming of the messiah for football? Even on St. Kilda he seems barely adequate to play. He's kicked ten goals for the season despite playing forward for most of this season and being a focal point in the forward line.

How hard is it to look decent on a horrible side?

When he's proven himself and actually done something other than amassing useless possessions (funny how we can debate Buckley being effective with 30+ possies, but Riewoldt getting barely 20 is a master of the game), then I might shift my opinion.

Until then, he's another overhyped marketing ploy for a team short on hope and a future of success.
