Josh Fraser had a great game against the Saints, it was good seeing him playing a very good game. He did well in the ruck, and did well around the ground. Let's hope he can do the same against Port next week. Well done to Josh, and all the Collingwood boys on a great game, although the Second Quarter wasn't a very good one, we still walk away with a well earnt win. Well done!

yeah im very happy with frasers performance tonight. Got a lot of good taps. It wasnt against any champion ruckman though (whos maguire?) but still a good effort. Also, does anyone know why McKee didnt play?

although josh played a top class game, we don't really need another tall up forward or round the ground, WE NEED A TAP RUCKMAN! good luck to him in the AFL but i just dont think that he is the type of player we are after. If we keep him then we need to trade stunner. we cannot have 2 round -the-ground ruckmen, we need at least one reasonably dominant tap style ruckman.

go the pies great game! and once again, top game rogan Smile

Josh looked very good in the ruck in the first quarter and he looked good around the ground.

Let's hope this is signs of things to come, because we all know he's a very talented young player. And now he has some confidence he can hopefully play better games and become one of the better ruckmans in the AFL. And everyone thought I was deadset against Fraser I know my comments have been harsh of young Josh, but, I will not change them, he does little things (until tonight) and probarly now he can be a bigger star for Collingwood.

It's taken Tarrant 6 seasons to become a star, looks like it's going to be less for Fraser - it takes time.
As far as tapouts he also did well against Gardiner, he is heading in stardom direction at the moment probably by the finals - but next year may be getting near his peak.
But this year might be a better flag opportunity since a lot of other teams may be a lot better next year - freo, toast, st Kilda, maybe others, even geelong.

Like they say....Big Men always take longer to peak. Usually they hit their straps around the ages of 24 - 25. Take a look at Pebbles for the proof!

A great game from Josh. Did some good work in the ruck and around the ground. It was good to see him taking some solid overhead grabs as well.

He still has some little things he needs to work on, like kicking for goal, but that's all. Well last night's kicking for goal anyways Smile

Very good point Magpira.

Every time the topic of Josh comes up on Nick's, its a virtual carbon copy of the debate we had 3 years ago regarding Anthony.

Like Pebbles, Josh showed form as a youngster, and we all expected that he would get exponentially better from there. If his early form had been more Guy Richards like, much of the pressure would have come off the poor bloke (and Guy is still around somewhere while we wait for him to mature).

Patience is required, and while we wait, Josh will influence many games and continue to take the oppositions 2nd or 3rd best defender.

I wasn't here 3 yrs ago Razz and my other topic, was just some insightful hints, no bagging, just thought I'd make conversation, turns out it was the wrong thing to do. But whatever, atleast he played well Very Happy

Prototype - I wasn't having a go at you. I was just observing that the criticism of Josh is similar to that which was aimed at Pebbles when he was about the same age.

As has been observed many times, big fella's take longer to mature (I myself should be a brownlow chance at about 65).

Meanwhile, I have no problem with insightful criticism (positive or negative). IMHO, feedback that is only positive is as harmful as feedback that is wholey negative. Balance is best.
