If you watched the footy show last night they showed some footage of the 1980 night grand final where Kerry Good kicked a goal after the siren the win the match.
The footage shows when he is lining up and little kid running out by himself and then just as he kicks it the kid starts waving his arms at him to put him off.
Eddie on the footy show commented last night that the kid should have smothered the kick.

Well the kid was actually me!

I heard the siren that early that I jumped the fence and started running on the field and got to him by the time he was lining up. In typical Collingwood supporter fashion i was actually going to go up and push Good as he was kicking it but he just got in first. I remember standing right behind him watching the ball sail through the goals and I also rmember Peter Moore standing in the goal square at the time. (The number 30 I had adorned on my duffle coat back then-though I wasn't wearing it at time).

For a moment I thought the question might have been what was the name of the kid who ran onto the ground ......

Anyway I am not making this up, it really was me, I have the video of it at home and we laugh every time we watch any old footage of it. I was 10 at the time. I remember it like it was yesterday.

LOL.............I bumped heads with Peter Mckenna when he kicked 100 goals at Victoria Park in 1970...I was one of the mob that ran on the ground....but to be able to point and say."that's me!'........you are a part of history Seth.....I reckon you should have a footy Show appearance on a segment....."Where are they now?"

Shame on you, Seth, not stopping a goal! What kind of Collingwood supporter are you?! LOL j/k

If you had of stopped the kick, the ump's probarly would of given him another kick. And you'd probarly get banned from football for life. But as I said, probarly

OK. This isn't quite so impressive, because it doesn't involve Collingwood. But I helped Port win the 1965 S.A.N.F.L. 2nd Semi Final.

Port were playing South Adelaide. We'd been leading all day but South had a great last quarter and hit the front with a couple of minutes to play. In the dying seconds the umpire, K.G.Cunningham, awarded a free kick to a Port player, Peter Mead, about 40 yards out on a slight angle, kicking to the river end of Adelaide Oval where the Port Cheer Squad (including a 10 year kid called Alf Andrews ... not yet a Doctor) was sitting. The siren went and we all hopped the fence and gathered in the area between the fence and the goals as Mead lined up. Several tall South players were standing in the same area hoping to punch the ball clear. Mead's kick went through for a goal and we all went ballistic. Port were into another Grand Final (which we subsequently won)

In the press the following week, one of the South Adelaide players was complaining that he was unable to get a decent run up to punch the ball clear because of all the kids who were standing in his way.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !

I'm still proud of that.

You would certainly have been famous if you had of got to him in time, Seth. Did you bring that up in your job interview, or just gloss over it.
