i was thinking that exact same thing. his rucking for willi has been excelent. mick event admits that. I think it would be a great game for him to come in, even if he didnt spend that much time in the ruck, coz hed be up against another developing ruckman. _________________ Premiership Pies 03 |

maggies2003.... gggrrrrrr I'm trying hard not to be violent....
BUCKS... I agree....St Kilda is statistically the WORST at hitouts in the league.... and C Cloke was in the bests for Williamstown last week....
I would like to see how effective a combination of him and McKee could be. |

jSounds like a good idea. Of course if he had been a top 3 draft pick he probably would already have been tried on current form. Seems a bit short for a ruckman by todays standards, interesting to see how he would go. |

or walker in - C. Cloke will play a whole year for Willy - like his brother before him. If you throw the young guy in before his body is ready he'll be murdered, and that can have long lasting affects. Don't ruin a promising carrear because you want a quick fix.

Post subject: Welcome Cam Cloke | |

I was talking to my housemate about this the other day. I think Cam Cloke should come into the side this week because he has been playing well for Willy in the VFL and the Saint don’t have a quality ruckman . What I mean is, their rucks are of VFL standard, therefore, Cam Cloke could come into the side play as a ruckman like he has been for Willy, get the ball to our onballers (who are better than the Willy onballers) so we should get first use of the ball more often than not .
Simple .
If it turns out like that and he has a good game, which there is no reason why he shouldn’t play well. Imagine the confidence he will have from here on. Also, think about how much it will inspire Jason to play well.
If there is any one game to introduce Cam Cloke to the seniors this year this is it.
We need a ruckman who can get hitouts. |

sorry to stuff this topic,
but i have it on good authority that there is no though of bringing cam cloke in to senior footy yet. he'll be extremly lucky is he gets a game this season, he's just not ready for it yet and his body won't cope. |

Dunno how good authority youre talking about, but anyway seems a good idea to me to give Cloke jnr a tast of the big time. This is a possible scenario - assuming Richo is not fit enough yet: bring Cloke in to share rucking duties, and throw McKee into defense to replace presti, maybe on Gehrig - Mckee is a good backman and a proactive one as well who creates play feeding to the speedsters etc.
As is being said St Kilda rucking division is relatively weak so good for cloke that way - then again Capuano is still a big mean bastard - anyway Cloke should be able to take it for one game, Josh took it for his whole debut season which amybe wasn't such a great idea - then put him (cloke) back into the magoos indefinitely even if he kills em. |

yes Daniel - did you see the size of Jason Clokes body when he played a year for Willie? It's not good enough to have a big body, you need to be strong (I don't think Cam is even as strong as Jason was) and you need to know how to use it. Especially in the ruck. You can't just be a bean pole in AFL, we all know that.
If you take a tall strong kid who doesn't know how to ruck in the AFL and throw him against a strong person who does, even if they're not very good, it's just not going to work, especially not all game.
We don't want to delay Cam Clokes appearance in AFL for years because he gets toweled by reiwolt or gerigh, who aren't ruckmen but are stronger and better than C cloke. It;'s not his fault, he's just not ready for ruck, probably not for the backline either.
