They fell apart the last 8 minutes. We should of burried them. Rocca can't kick when need, Tarrant took marks-thats about it.
Were out of the 8 again and really, back with the pack. |

Buckley will soon have stress fractures in his back from carrying the team. |

I'm pretty angry too.
They are just so hot and cold these days. And you just know they're capable of so much more.
If there's a bright side to this, it's the fact that from mid-way through the fist quarter until mid-way through the last quarter, we completely outplayed a very good opponent. If that's not premiership-standard football then I've never seen it.
But you just can't give away 6 goal head starts every week and expect to win very often.
I'm very very pissed off.
That first 10 minutes was just not acceptable.

Didn't think NB was as good as usual, but he can't do it every week. It's the ruck that's the problem...we know it, they know it...I have a different player in mind in "the blame game", but to be honest, my heart is so down I can't rouse myself to anger...

Oh FFS! he was as much to blame as every other player out there for what we saw today.
I`m f***ing ropeable! |
Here we go again
Buckley was sensational today. So was Anthony Rocca. So was Chris Tarrant.
It's some of the other cattle out there I'd be aiming my rope at.
And as for "what we saw today" ...
What we saw was roughly three quarters of roughly premiership football ... instigated primarily by the three men I've mentioned ... plus roughly one quarter of hard core embarassment that made me wonder why I even bother going to the football.
When we're bad we are ... BAD !
Today proved that one quarter of our worst football can undo the work of three quarters of our best football.
I too am f***ing ropeable.
But Buckley can hold his head high. He was magnificient. |

Chris Tarrant was not sensational. You need to have an influence to be sensational. He did not. |

If I want to get analytical, how many times can we get thrashed and lose a game due to the influence of a ruckman? Well, there's the GF, the Wiz Final, today...
But like I say, I don't wanna think about it!

Maybe you should rewatch the game Collingwood's best player and possibly BOG. |

Some points that need to be noted from the Game....
Leon Davis
He cost Collingwood 1 goal (maybe even 2) but the one I am refering to, is where he decided to fly over the top of the pack and punched the ball to a West Coast player and they ended up scoring. Now I am not blaming him for the loss, I am going to mention many other players, but that really stood out. He could have left that ball alone and Collingwood may have scored a goal.
Collingwood's Ruckmen
Very bad, we really need to contest the ruck better, not one player is being blamed, but they really need to work on the ruck work.
Clearences
That is still killing us, the fact that West Coast kept clearing the ball with ease during the whole game, is really going to hurt Collingwood alot durng the rest of 2003.
Nathan Buckley
Still could have played better, good game, but it wasn't a great game, did good things, did bad things. He needs to eliminate the "Bad things" he does. And as for carrying Collingwood, I don't see how he is "carrying" Collingwood, but again I am watching the game from Tasmania on T.V so I wouldn't know.
Josh Fraser
Avarage game, not good, not bad, just Avarage maybe our coach needs to drop him down to Williamstown, who to replace him? Haven't a clue. But we need someone who can win atleast one ruck contest, and someone who doesn't try to mark with 1 hand by himself...
Collingwood Football Club
Obviously needs to wake up from their Grand Final nightmare, it's Round 8 and Collingwood are still not playing as a team that made the Grand Final last year, yes, it's early, but they aren't playing good enough to beat anyone.
Are my comments to harsh? Probarly, but again it's my opinion, I'll probarly get bagged for them. So be it, they were asleep during the First, and fell flat on their face in the final quarter. So I am being as nice as I can with my comments on this effort. Atleast they didn't get thrashed, because it sure looked like they were going to be. _________________ Ðavâgé

For a game containing such high highs and such low lows, I reckon the most critical period was the beginning of the last qtr when we were ready to run away with it but missed easy goals. I could see it coming - we just failed to put them away when we could smell victory and they were always dangerous whilst they were within 3 kicks of us. The momentum of the game was due to swing back to them and the time clock was not going to allow us another crack at them.
We all expected to win this game after the emotion of last week but when you look at it rationally their form really warranted favouritism pre-game. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

AAH No he was good very good.On top of all his effective touches he had 8 tackles.
He was easiy Collingwoods most effective player.
I don't think it matter's where you are watching it from , it's pretty damn obvious he had another great game. |

I agree that the time has come for Josh Fraser to have a run with Williamstown. If Presti misses next week with the ribs Cloke will probably come in but surely it is time to blood someone new as well, maybe Richards. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'
