If you can't see the value of Molloy tonight then one of us knows nothing about footy....I reckon my knowledge is right up there just quietly. _________________ My oxygen is Collingwood. Without it I die.

I'm sorry tess but on this one I am with the Dewd. Molloy has plenty of courage I agree but we need some one who can put in 4 quarters and get some possessions up. I think he leaves our forward line a little unbalanced in my opinion. Lets not make a mention of his kicking at goal.
However his courage and dedication to the cause is unquestionable.
This is a tough one, purely and simply for team balance he is not good for us on all occasions. Maybe as a stop gap or a 2nd string if someone were to get injured but not as a regular.
Great performance by the boys against the CAMRY COWS _________________ Go Pies 2011!!!!

He's a player that you know will ALWAYS put in 110% and put his body on the line without giving it a second thought. He puts in second and third efforts, does the one-percenters a lot of people don't see and are not counted as stats, he's a great leader, motivator and protector of his team-mates. And I love seeing the look on an opponents face when he's running straight at them - awesome stuff!
He's sacrificing a lengthy career by playing such a physical game that is no doubt taking its toll in his body - you wont find a better team player than Jarrod Molloy - he's a damn good footballer when he's on fire and will never give up even when he's struggling. It's obvious why Mick wants a fit Molly out on the ground every week.
GO PIES & GO JARROD!

I'm with you on this Marg. Sure Molly isn't endowed with silky skills, but as far as I'm concerned every side needs his type of player. I have no doubt he gives the younger players confidence and inspiration knowing that he is alongside to take the hard knocks (and dish a few out). _________________ Go Pies! |

Jarrod is a part of the game plan...full stop. Otherwise MM wouldn't have him in the side. His job is not to get 30 possessions. If it was he would have been dropped by now. As stated many times on this board, none of us here know the game plan and the jobs each player is assigned. I can only think that molly is doing his job well because he's still in the team. Ask cloke, rupe, freeborn, davis etc. IF you aren't doing your job for the team then you will be dropped. _________________ My oxygen is Collingwood. Without it I die.

Top post Blanch. Well reasoned argument. I hope the doubters read it and re evaluate their opinions. Some of his heavy work at stop plays more than matched that of Riscuitto's. Molloy is our beast. Every team needs one. And as you say as long as he carries out his assigned job. |
