homeless, poor, needy old people could have their lights turned off without penalty. By the way, this is already happening in nursing homes where difficult patients receive more 'help' to sleep than is necessary. It would just make the whole practice more widespread and open to abuse by those you and i trust to look after our aged relatives. And when they are gone, its not as if you can just reboot the system or reinstall windows.

I am against it for myself. But I think it is a personal choice, and I would never think to tell someone who is in a great deal of pain with no chance of a cure what they can or cant do.
Personally , I would hang onto a chance that a cure may be found the next week, day , hour, or even minute.
I would even give marijana a go at pain relief and I trully never do drugs.....but I love champagne.

We put a animal out of its pain because its cruel, why cant we do it for humans??

I worked in a nnursing home when i was 16 and the people were in so much pain it was unfair

I'm all for it if the inevitable is 100% proven. To see someone suffer, to live an existence without bodily control, to watch their dignity vanish through no fault of their own is something nobody should have to endure.

It's a shame that you didn't give me a few days notice of this as I am good friends of the partner of Dr. Phil Nitschke, and if you are going to discuss euthanasia, you should know who this is, and I could have arranged an interview with him. What better opinion to have than that from someone who knows the most about it.

Yes, for it, in certain circumstances which I'm not quite sure of as yet!.

Apparently it's legal(ish) in Switzerland now, as a case that made news over here showed...
