been on hold for 45 minutes.. will wait another 10 when i rang thru they said it was in the sun and i asked had they contacted the management of telstra stadium the the girl said i can ask derryn ....
she jusy came back and asked for my number it may not be till after 5 now but i will hang about till 5.20, i didn't think they would consider putting me on initially i just wanted to know if they had heard about it. It will be interesting to see if they call back, i'd say its 50-50.
(i rang steve price last year and it took me 50 minutes to get on then) |

I'm just going to ask if hes heard of it and if not to say what the first post inidcated that their appeared to be a deliberate move and that the follow throught that hit your daughter may not have been accidental.
The fact they asked for my number means they may call tomorrow or in the next half hour or so. I will call the mat 5.25 and tell them i am going home and will talk after 5.40 if they wish to call me at home.. |

Emailed Driver from Buckley Surfers, as he has legal experience, and his answer was:
This is really horrible stuff - very, very low. If they have not done so already they should contact the club and let them know about it. But they should NOT contact Telstra Dome direct because it is a waste of time. They should get medical treatment for their daughter, have it properly catalogued and take some photos of the damage done, then they should see a lawyer who is a specialist in these sorts of personal injury issues and sue the pants off the stadium management. Maybe Lesley could take action against them too!

Sly has got some good advise.It is no good being satisfied with an apology. By doing so Telstra and other major corporations that wash their hands of resposibility for actions taken by their service providers, win.
The principle of the matter is what counts.
Bottom line is a hired security guard has acted negligently and by doing so has struck an 11 year old girl forcibly in the face.
Nothing else-just that.
An apology says yeah we're sorry about that. Legal action means they will not do it again and they are recognised as having been implicit to the action.
Any help we can give the family we must,the are after all part of our larger family, the magpie family. |

I know for a fact that there were many witnesseses and they would back me up by saying he didnt even try to apologise and instead laughed about it as though it was funny.
After almost 30 years of following Collingwood through the best and worst of times, I have seen many many over officious acts committed by so-called "professionals", but this incident, regardless of my relationship and love of my daughters, is to me, the most vile and purile act I have ever seen.
What do others think???????

That's just weak, hitting a young girl, hell hitting anyone at a game shouldn't be tolerated. Even if he is the security, there's no excuse in hitting a young child. I hope you sue, and his ass jailed. Because no one should be assulted at a Football match, we don't want the AFL ending up like what is happening in the English Premier League and such with the fans asking like idiots. If he gets away with it, all hell is going to break through. I am not bagging the English Premier League mind you, I am saying we don't need people getting assulted, and we don't need hooligans at our games. I swear if he gets off all the guards at the games are really going to lose the crowd and all hell may break loose. So, I hope you win, and I hope that ass gets what he deserves.

The worst thing about security people as they never get a backgorund check done on them. You need to stand up and complain.
Because when will it happen to the next little girl??
when i was younger a girlfriend of mine was 16 and her mum finally let her go to momba with a groupe of friends, her mum told her if she has any troubles to find a security person or the police
she went off to the momba hoping for fun but when she got there a bunch of boys were following her and yelling rude stuff to her. So she went to the first security person she could find.
Unfortantly for her he told her to follow him to the head office but he lead her to a dark road and raped her. When her perants had the man charged for it had found out that he had been a gaurd at 4 companys and had been charged with the same sort of thing and fired from each company for it
But where does that leave us?? is he working at another company/?? is he the same man who did this to your daughter???
The more complaints the better I say stand up for your daughter scream at the top of your lungs dont let him get away with it! it might not be as bad as rape but if he gets away with what he did to your daughter will it stop???
I would look at ringing a curent affair or today tonight and get your story told on tv!! maybe get them to find out why he did it!! i know i would
