Lets get one thing straight, the real supporters are the ones that have their membership card, and are there every week making a lot of noise, dont make judgments on who isnt a real supporter like some of u do.

Oh dear, here we go again, judging supporters by their memberships. Yes it's great we have nearly 40,000 members, but don't forget our wonderful overseas supporters who are just as much a supporter as you and I, even without the financial memberships. Same as interstate supporters and country victorian supporters. It's not the size of the membership card or lack of it which makes a supporter, it's what the Club represents to you.

AND I LOVE COLLINGWOOD!!!

I'm all for the constructive critism but there is a limit to that though. You can't have everything you own way, there is always going to be up's and down's that is what makes our game what it is. Sure every team needs members, but that doesn't make a supporter. Members and non-members are still the same supporter, we all hurt when Collingwood loses. There's many football supporters who want to become a member of their AFL club, but some like Interstate, or overseas supoorters, can't do so. If I could, I'd be at every Collingwood game, but I live in Tasmania, so I can't. But that still doesn't mean I support Collingwood less. Same with many Collingwood (and AFL) supporters, So, let's agree to dissagree, we all know that 3-3 right now is better then 1-5 or even 0-6.

a member and a non member are not the same. (unless there interstate or something) a member is someone who is commited to the club and has joined the family, a non member is a bandwagoner most of the time who wouldnt spend a dime on their club. There's a big difference. A non-member is not part of our great club (on most occasions) BIG DIFFERENCE! COMMITMENT

Constructive criticism can be a very informative and useful read.

Saying that Fred should develop a better left foot kick or should give away less stupid frees or play with more intensity, or that, with regret, Fred may not be quite up to it, is no problem in my opinion. But to say that Fred is a useless shite who should never play for Collingwood again, and then heap abuse on his courage or character is not what a true supporter should be publicly shouting to the world.

Maybe if a supporter is shite because he doesn't have the heart to weather the bad times, then maybe we can trade him to another club?
What's good for the players should be good for the supporters too, don't you think?

Luckily supporters can be overweight, not very fit, short in stature, be unco-ordinated with poor eyesight and be slow in foot and mind, (or be female -yum!) and still be excellent superstar supporters - but fickle spit-the-dummy personal-abuse baggers need to look at themselves and get real.

I have been a non-member since the end of the 1994 season (my membership ran out) I signed up at the Wrest Point Casino (where they have a Collingwood membership drvie) and ever since I haven't been a member. For 1yr I was a member, and for the rest of them years I have been a loyal Collingwood supporter, I know I may be an Interstater, but I know a few Collingwood fans that have moved to Tasmania who have supported Collingwood all their lives, they werem't members, so were they bandwagon supporters?

I do see what you mean though, but doesn't mean all non-members are that way. I'd really like to be a Collingwood member, but I haven't got the funds to do so.

There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism but some people dont know the meaning of constructive criticism do they joel ?

I mean words like pathetic piss weak crap are not consructive they are destructive....everyone have a read of JLC's postings does he rip the guts out of players and the club after a loss or successive losses no he doesnt.
Once again its sad when people such as magpie willow passionately post on here about his sadness in reading all this destructive postings and he gets shit bagged, its not about who is the better supporter or who is a member or who isnt a member its about OUR right to say hang on do we have to read all this crap after a loss.
And remember joel magpie willow was generalising he didnt single anyone out as you have done to him so you better brush up on your moderating skills fella.

Positive people are powerful people lets focus on being positive being negative will not and never will solve anything.
To hang shit on collingwood after a loss in any public forum is not on, the club right now really needs our support...

Thank you Joffa. Constructive criticism is aimed at helping in the long run. Constructive criticism benefits and mostly is a positive experience. The rubbish I've read from some (not all) posts on here is nothing but bagging, and people who want to hide behind the term constructive criticism are doing just that - hiding.

We all acknowledge the boys aren't in white hot form just yet but I would like to know what the baggers, oh sorry the constructive criticisers, hope to achieve by their bagging? What is the end result you wish to see from your comments? Hang on, maybe it might be your post that just inspires the boys to look in the mirror!!!! pfft. When the chips are down it's time to support the boys. I'm frustrated too but now is when the supporters can make a real difference by showing them it's not just the GF's when we love em. Don't reply to this post that I've supported for 40 years etc etc....i couldn't give a crap. I'm asking for your support NOW! Let's give the boys the feeling we are behind them 100% and take the pressure off. NOW is the time!

Courageous cloke, real supporters do NOT have to be paid up members, there are people like myself who are struggling students living out of home, when being a collingwood member would mean going without dinner.

This gets me irate because i bleed black and white and am not a bandwagoner in the slightest....so cut us some slack, would ya?

Well said Joffa.

Well this thread has gone off the rails hasn't it.

Now let's get one thing straight. Not that anyone will take any notice, but I'm sick of people posting their thoughts, then others posting that they basically aren't entitled to voice their opinion. These are the people who should be cutting the crap. Fine to argue to the contrary, but not to bag just because your opinion is contrary.

Magpie Willow keep voicing your opinion, because that's just what it is. Yours not anybody elses.

I had a lot of fun in the last qrt (and after the siren) Sydney supporters singing around me, so I was jumping around singing our song and cheering (you shoulda seen the looks I got, hehehe) I can't wait until next week. Still early days, but I always keep the faith. Sure I get disappointed and frustrated at times, but I will never give up!

I'm sorry Collingwood, but your stuck with me no matter how badly you play.. LOL...
