He admitted to being a Crows barracker several years ago. So, I suppose if he was going to go into admin at the club level it would obviously be with the Crows.

But I reckon he's not telling us something.

Why did he suddenly decide to quit?

At first, I thought maybe he had a terminal illness and was just going off to die quietly ... but then why would he want to go on to the Crows board if that was the case?

As for conflict ... well, I suppose there's not much point worrying about it after the event.

Jackson was just your typical garden variety AFL head honcho. He was no better or worse than Oakley.

Actually, for conflict of interest, you can't go past that North Melbourne criminal, Aylett. Didn't he rig North Melbourne's first two premierships with that 10 year automatic clearance rule? North clearly had the inside information on that ... and Aylett was THE man.

Don't worry ... Whoever gets the gig next will evoke just as much hatred as Jackson. It's part of the job description ... to piss off as many genuine footy fans as possible while chasing the corporate dollar.

he's suggetsed he was going to step down from the afl for the past year - not exactly a sudden conspiracy. you could hardly accuse him of bias towards adelaide either after the fixturing of the prelim last year and the wizz fizz cup.
