the whole thing is quite hilarious.

i mean really - the fact that they need to make reference to the greatest club of all on their official club merchandise just shows you how great we are.

Collingwood is without doubt one of the greatest sporting clubs around. Collingwood sells. We know that, and essendon know that. Why else would they do this? haha Unfortunately for them, they are the ones looking the fools by making reference to the Mighty Pies on their stuff. Its something you'd expect to find on one of those el cheapo shirts out the front of a souveneir shop on the main street of Cowes in Phillip Island, that would maybe last 1 wash then start to fall apart.

Instead they've taken the tacky choice to put it on their official merchandise which is quite ridiculous and I would be embarrassed if our official merchandise was tainted like that with red and black connotations. The fact that it was the grand final and they werent even there, makes it more embarrassing on their behalf. Everytime I see that shirt (dont know how it will sell because i dont see why an essendon supporter would buy it considering their recent history after gloating how they are possibly the best team ever) it will just remind me of what a fantastic season we had in 2002, the year that all the media and opposition had written us off even before the first bounce of the season. The year we proved just what an inspiring, skillful, hard at it, never-say-die team of "no names" that we are to those outside the bounds of the black and white's vast army. The year I too cried with tears of joy, knowing that our dim dark days of those recently past are all but a distant memory now and the future truely is Black and White.

i wouldnt get worked up over the shirt. It just makes me laugh that they'd chose to do that and i believe it makes them look the fool much more than it does any Collingwood person.

pity the poor soul who choses to walk around in a shirt as tacky looking as that. I'm sure their mummy will be waiting at home to give them a big hug and to wipe away them tears. lol

I have come to the realisation that Essendon have made themselves the biggest AFL jokes of all time and Collingwood will be crying tears of joy in 2003 on Grand final day - if I was a bomber supporter I wouldnt waste my time on a shirt like that.
