The AFL won't let their little love child club die, you know that.....Sydney won't die either until the AFL wakes up and see's how much money they are wasting a year

Oh yeah, HAHAHAHAHA St Kilda beat them, HAHA!!!

Brisbane will be around for as long as the AFL is around. The AFL won't let Sydney or Brisbane die.

The AFL is a charity organisation. These clubs should be greatful for the handouts.
I think that if other clubs have to give them money indirectly they should be involved in how they are run. That is so that it does not continue.
Brisbane can pay their players more that is why players do not leave as much as with other teams.
Hopefully a fairer system can be found soon.

why dont all the Victorian teams revert back to just a Victorian comp and then see how long the interstate teams last without us...or how long the AFL would last

Do you mean the Current VFL league? or the old SENIOR one that changed it's name to "AFL"? I am just curious, good idea though either way. The AFL would be shitting themselves if Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon pulled out. Look at all the big blockbuster games that'd be losing the AFL would almost certainly go bankrupt within a few weeks of this happening.

Instead of getting them out of the competition why don't collingwood just beat the competition. Who cares if atm the top 4 are all eastern states sides. Most of the Victorian clubs are rebuilding at the moment(collingwood included) so in 2/3 years time these trends will reverse. Brisbane will be shit once voss retires.

I agree with Tupac. The Victorian Clubs should just tell the AFL to get stuffed and go back to how it was...good old VFL. Even though I have lived in Sydney all my life, the VFL before it was hijacked was the best, and we had better TV coverage up here in those days too.

It will be sad day when finals are all played outside of Melbourne. The MCC should tell the AFL to get nicked. I would always support Melbourne teams over any blow ins. Even last night I was at the Swans V Essendon game, cos I had a freebie, and barracked for Essendon. I know that won't go down well with some of you, but because of where I have lived, I don't sense that hatred you guys have with Richmond,Essendon and Carlton.

Live in Sydney........BUT.........never the Swans as long my brown eye points downwards.

I hate to say this but the "old AFL" or VFL as it used to be known was bailed out financially by the interstate clubs, ie the eagles when they entered the comp. It cost the eagles big money just to enter the comp. At that point in time the VFL was almost bankrupt and needed urgent assistance.....that's one of the main reasons the introduction of interstate teams started.

I'd love to see a breakaway to form a "superleague" but we'd have to be careful about how it was run. Keep in mind that the afl has rights to the grounds such as the MCG, dome, subi etc. A superleague would have to find elsewhere to play.

I'm not saying For or Against here but.......

How could we revert to a Victorian Comp when the Bulldogs, Saints, Kangas and Melbourne can't even draw crowds or members and sadly probably won't be around in 10-15 years time?
