Post subject: What chance Tarrant for the Brownlow | |
|
I write down votes after each game (trying not to be too one eyed) ... makes watching the Brownlow more interesting as you can see who you thought was best each game.
I have Tarrant on 10 votes (with 2 BOG certainties) |

bucks would be our fave for sure, but taz will have to kick more goals to make an impact. seems to kick to many behinds to influence umps. still, an outside chance, anyone know the odds on him?? |

As much as i would love to see him win, I dont think hes the type of player who would win a Brownlow. Having said that, if he keeps up his current form, hes definatly in with a big chance. Hes been awesome so far!
Im still tipping Bux for the Brownlow but Tazza will be right up thereon Brownlow night if he continues his dominace. _________________ Those with the most invested are the last to surrender!

mmmmm, interesting question, if he can mix goals with possesions, he's a chance, the type of footy he's playing at the moment would be votable. With him leading up more, the umps will notice him aswell. _________________ got yourself a gun... |

I have Bucks on 7 votes.
The problem for Bucks in regards to the Brownlow is that he is too consistent!!! If he played more bad games, the umps (and comentators) would notice his good ones more. The Brownlow rewards stand out performances rather than consistency. Guys who turn it on for a quarter (eg Hird) get noticed more.
Tarrant could well get a vote for his last quarter against Sydney.
Tarrant on 2-3???? You are kidding ... thats why writing down the votes helps as we all have short memories. There are 2 games where Tarrant is a BOG certainty so he has minimum 6.
When Tarrant has been good this year, he has been great .... umps notice the great games.
Other than round 1, Bucks great games have been inlosing sides so likely to only get 1 vote. |

For sustained excellence, no-one deserves it more than Bucks. The team will start firing soon and maybe we can get Buckley the winner, with Taz runner up. (Why not Pebbles third too ).
Been following a certain number 37 since he started .... maybe 2005 he can win it! |

if E=mc2 then Black & White does not = Brownlow.
Think of the 2 poor souls of one G. Wright in 1990 and one N.Buckley from 1993-2002. And Woey's not our Brownlow Medalist, so he don't count. |

Does anybody really care about the Brownlow? Footy is a team sport and the Brownlow is judged by umpires and influenced by the whims of constant rule changes. For example the current ridiculousness about touching umpires would rule quite a few players out and yet a few years ago the umpires just accepted being bumped into occasionally.
On another point, what is the use in trying to guess the Brownlow after less than half the season is completed?
Oh well I suppose if you enjoy talking about it... |
