Mihocek was huge in the final quarter. Two great goals and his work around the contest was brilliant. He gave us that extra lift that we desperately needed.
It's amazing to finish top 4. Apart from our hardcore optimists, I doubt anyone else thought top 4 was a possibility at the start of the year but here we are. I'm proud of the way the boys have continued to overcome adversity with injuries and just kept plodding along.
Bucks didn't look happy at the end of the game. He knows we'll need to improve drastically if we're going to be a significant part of September.
Looking forward to the finals now. |
Jez, good summation there bro, but with 10 minutes to go, I could see all the hard work achieved in 2018 unravelling before our eyes.
As a spectacle, it was absolutely nothing to be proud of, or ever looked at again. Freo set up very well, crumbed all of our dropped marks on the half volley, and there were f&cking plenty. It was indeed a an epic clusterf%ck.
A couple of underperforming senior players are in for rude shocks when their names aren't called out in the next 22 for the QF.
Geebung would have been watching our game just GAGGING for a Freo win, and pissing themselves stupid, to have another crack at us.

If we don't see him again in 2018, thanks for two very serviceable games when the heat was on, and our backline under siege lad. Bravo

Me too; and I have endured a demoralising drought that not even the farmers could get near, giving me a massive head start on you pal! |
Some very funny comments in these two posts. |

Gawd, that was horrible to watch from near beginning to end. Anyhow, a good H&A season all considered; it's easy to forget we have half a backline.
Talented players like De Goey, Thomas and WHE need to find ways to contribute when they're down. Sier needs to be stronger and more decisive with his hands in tight, although he was much better in the last quarter.
As admirable as they've been, we can't play Madgen, Murphy and Oxley in finals at this stage. Howey and Goldy would make a huge difference to that defence. The footy gods owe us.
Coxy has shown he's smart enough to learn from today. Aish needs another game next week. Varcoe frustrates, but will benefit from the break.
At least we got through and learned a lesson about intensity. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

All who have worn the Collingwood jumper this season have shown huge determination and belief.
Special mentions for today's lion hearted efforts from Grundy, Sidey, Maynard, Crisp and Pendles.
And many thanks to Josh Thomas who is a brilliant snap kick on goal. |

I haven't been this excited about footy since 2011.
Long time between drinks.
This year we've seen the team lift to another level. They're back in the finals and back in the hunt for glory.
Took Buckley bloody long enough, but he's got there.
A bit more luck with injuries and we would have been even higher on the ladder. But top 4 is where it's at. If we're there, we're in it.
I'm hoping we play the Swans in the prelim because I reckon we can beat them and I've got a better chance of getting a seat to the game.
Pretty sure we're playing the Eagles next week. Luck has not been on our side this year, but maybe that's the best way to go into a finals series.
Bring it on, baby! |

Great effort from the whole club this year. How many players have we had to use this year? 38?? how many other clubs have finished in the top 4 having to use that many?? And BTW - still see their VFL side in the top 4 also?? I would say none - this club and it's supporters have a lot to be proud of no matter what the rest of the year deals up. _________________ Toby for President |

Its been an incredible effort with the players we've had out. 15 wins and a percentage of 120. You cant ask for much more from this group. _________________ I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within. |

We won.
Won ugly.
That Hill player killed us.
Murphy will be a player.
There were a couple of players who look a bit
off being AFL players at the present time.
Thomas is a great shot at goal.
And can someone tell Mason to kick thru the ball
when shooting for goal. |

Agree Cam, the kid is built like a friggin German Panzer tank, saw him v Port, he imposed himself right on the game. ! _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

No judgement from me at his age, and the players up-field were down, but today was his worst performance so far by a margin. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.
