Unlike dogs cats actually have complex personalities and so not surprisingly those on the right appear to prefer dogs.

Huh??? You think this is related to politics? |
I've actually thought of this before myself! There are even stories on (admittedly wacky and possibly satirical?) far-right websites warning about cat ownership being emasculating.
I do agree though that people who like dogs might secretly like having someone at hand who adores them unquestioningly and that they can boss around. |
Some might. Equally, people on the Left presumably like animals that play with and torture their victims before they kill. It’s the secret police thing, isn’t it? There’s an NKVD agent inside every cat and every Leftist loves to put the old claws of coercion in, make the prey squeal, flip it around a bit.
It’s a fun game, this. Anyone can play. But should we stop now, before it gets silly ? Oh, sorry - it already did, quite a while back, when Swoop started it. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

^ Look, I'm not saying you're wrong about the first part. Maybe we can just agree that all left-wing people, right-wing people and pet owners are terrible and leave it at that. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Theres some interesting research being undertaken into the relationship between native animal scat and the health of native forests. Apparently the funguses promote tree growth.
By coincidence next weekend Im going to stay in a woodland forest where 28,000 hectares have been fenced with feral animal proof fencing and there are a great variety of marsupials and birds. I can imagine this fencing is very expensive to establish and maintain.
Cat control varies across local government and where I live has no regulation other than registration.
i would never own a cat because of how destructive they are. I hope they are better controlled in the future, along with other feral species. It seems that if we want to enjoy our forests and the benefit to the atmosphere they will have to be, no matter what the pet food industry throws at it |

Actually the slightly serious part here is that Swoop suggested that I like dogs because I like to dominate others. Which was a weird personal attack amid a pretty harmless thread, and untrue on multiple grounds. But if you can’t get a kick, you play the man, I guess. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

*cough cough* a thread about genocide and murder, more like. I think a few cat lovers might have been provoked, that's all. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Cat lovers "provoked" into becoming genocidal and murderous? What an intriguing idea... |

The only genocide and murder happening here is that being committed by cats. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I know a few personally and all I can say is, denigrate cats in their presence at your own risk!
I'm more into rats, personally, so I feel a little like a neutral party in this war (though I greatly prefer cats to dogs). _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
