Just quietly, I dont think it matters that their fans are wary. Itd be nice if their coaching staff and players were in foetal position at the thought of taking us on, though. |

Richmond a Chokers.
They did well in their Prelim and GF last year against inter-state opposition and had a reasonably easy ride in.
This year, different story.
23 games in a row at the G ah? We'll take the one that matters!!

Collingwood vs Richmond in finals:
Grand Finals - Pies 4, Tigers 2
Preliminary Finals - Pies 1, Tigers 3
Semi Finals - Pies 2, Tigers 2
Qualifying Finals - Pies 0, Tigers 1
Elimination Finals - Pies 0, Tigers 1
Total - Pies 7, Tigers 9
All games were at the G.
Biggest crowd was 113,461 in that infamous 1981 GF loss
Next biggest was 107,279 in 1969 PF loss
Last time we beat Richmond in a final was 1937, in a Semi.
All looks a bit depressing, I know but at least we have the most impressive stat, 3 flags in a row against them in '27, '28 and '29
Of course this will all have no bearing on Friday night's result but perhaps a little more meaning for us fans. |
The infamous 1981 GF loss was against Carlton. Youre no doubt thinking of the infamous 1980 GF loss. |

Our team will likely have 7 changes from the one that lost to Richmond early in the season. As things stand, it is likely that Appleby, Blair, Brown, Dunn, Murray, Reid and Scharenberg will be missing from that team. The ins (as of last night) would be Langdon, Sier, Adams, Goldsack, Greenwood, Mihocek and Varcoe. Most of them are much better than their replacements. |

Oh how id love, just LOVE to see the sickening looks of utter desolation on bloody cocky Mick Molloys moosh, and Richos face, if their Tigers get done, preferably by one point, after a de Goey magnificent goal in the last ten seconds of the game. !! Itd be priceless. !! LOL _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Nahh - be poetic if Treloar kicked that goal - and the face I'd like to see over Molloy's would be Lynch! _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |

^ I'm certain the week off has favoured most. It could be just that they were the better team, who knows? _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

So much has happened....
Sometimes taking a long break can be counter-productive? hmm |
By the time they take the field, it'll be one game in almost 4 weeks.
Hopefully they try to go too hard too soon and get injured...or better yet, die. |

I'm surprised about all the doom and gloom?
Going into the last game we played against them, we were quite confident until JDG was ruled out. And even then, we played admirally.
With Treloar and JDG in for this match, I am struggling to see why we can't match it? |

No, but Id blame Buckley for me losing it!
On the team, no way in hell we play Moore, if we do load up on the Tigers before they become unbackable
Id consider Reid if he was available but not Moore. |

I expect no changes as long as everyone gets up injury-wise.
I would however like to see Moore in, playing in defence. I believe he has shown glimpses of becoming a star defender, he looks a natural. And I think we may need that something special if we are to go all the way.
In for who? Tough call but can only really come up with Aish. Hed be stiff but thats footy.
Richmond are a very good team. But theyre not invincible, like some of the recent Hawks and Cats teams have been. They are gettable, and its my belief we have the game style to do it.
We will need things to fall our way, or at least break even (injuries, goal kicking accuracy, umpires, general bounce of the ball). |

They will go in short priced favourites and rightly so there record has been very good
Our biggest plus we have nothing to lose and everything to gain
This is the free hit we spoke of before the finals started
We're expected to lose and lose easily according to everyone in the media
There's absolutely no pressure on us here
No changes this week and hopefully west coast take care of the Dee's and then have to fly over here and take us on on our home deck in front of our supporters |
