Yes that is rather my point TP. I am losing my love of the great game. My main beefs being the lack of characters on the field, the fake teams and especially the focus on membership numbers and lack of real club home and culture for most teams.
It has become laughable, but alas successful.
Most people are so stupid they can't see what is happening.

Yeah the membership thing pisses me off. The banners every week bragging about the numbers. So tell me, how come our memberships are so much more expensive than all the other clubs? North can pay $500 and get a seat every week and guaranteed grand final access. Yes. I get we have more supporters so it's harder to get everyone in, but my thinking is more members, should be cheaper. And you simply cap legends as it is. It's pure greed.

Has been for a while now.
Hell a basic membership has little value as the AFL, stadiums and ticketing agencies band together to make it increasingly difficult to just walk up and get a seat.
Never used to be that way hell I remember going to the first ever Anzac game with my parents and sitting right up the very top (Ponsford stand I think) near the scoreboard and I kid you not the rows of seats we sat in had some sort of concrete barrier around them which if my memory serves me correct you had to climb over to get in or out (can anyone else recall such a thing?).
Crap seats but a good memory nonetheless.
