From AFL.com

HAMSTRUNG Collingwood star Jamie Elliott has sent another scare through the Magpie camp.

The injury-prone forward failed to complete the Magpies' last pre-Christmas session on Tuesday, but the club insists he was removed from training merely as a precautionary measure.

"I wouldn't say he hurt it (hamstring), but it was just precautionary that he didn't finish the session," Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh told AFL.com.au on Thursday.

Any hamstring concern for Elliott however minor or even de Goey can't be brushed aside with a quip about it being the best time of year for one to occur as our recent run with injury would suggest it's never a good time for a soft tissue injury at Collingwood.

stick a pin in him. No one still seriously thinks Elliot is going to play for us in meaningful football games? Its sad, but everyone needs to just turn expectations to zero. any game action thereafter is just a bonus.

Hope that both players who had little game time 2018 namely Elliott and Moore to shake off soft tissue and resume career

Mindset due to Jamie situ of yes he’s good —no not sure if good frustrating for him ,the club and fans

Moore for some unknown reason I’m more confident he will return —gee I hope so

I’m just wondering if there’s ever been a player who has left the track early and it hasn’t been a career threatening hammy.

Nah... that wouldn’t happen 🙄

Interesting point (leave early maybe to pick up kids ??)

There are observers at our training either media or other informants

They were at Carlton when a player went down. Also Geelong when Hawkins scare

Bugger me if they cover all 18 clubs it be lotta people

If Elliott manages to play any decent senior footy for us it will be a real bonus. His history of back surgery and chronic hamstring problems would have to make him a very doubtful proposition. Still, here's hoping he proves his doubters (like me) wrong.

Of course it's not unknown to leave the track early to drop the kids off at the pool.

Maybe, but do you really think the club would say this if he left early to pick up the kids from school. c'mon man!!

"I wouldn't say he hurt it (hamstring), but it was just precautionary that he didn't finish the session,"

Elliot and Moore missed so many games this year where they've said - he didnt do his hammy, he could just feel it. Well the reason he could feel it is because it turns out something is wrong there!!!!!! i suspect that's what happened here. While i bet he didnt tear his hammy, whatever he was feeling last year, likely started to return. Not necessarily end of the world stuff, but boy, it would make me uneasy if i was Elliot.

Elliott has had a few injuries over the last few seasons

There was the ankle (hear nought about that )

Then there was lower back and again not mentioned

Currently it’s hamstring issues——

Bazboy, based on my understanding, the hamstring is back related. I think the back is still very much the issue and the problem. I think the back thing may be permanent too which is why he keeps having these recurring hamstring issues.....
