Yep, its time to switch him up, we need some class up there desperately _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

Downed by 15 points against the reigning premier is acceptable when you consider no functioning forward line and we only played 2 qtrs. Full of run in the second qtr and come out in the 3rd like they all hit the hooch on the break. Someone mentioned Varcoe's effort near the end summed up things. Pretty much agree. The coaches need a kick up the arse as when we had possession we basically broadcast where and who we would kick too. Some of the high kicks too a team mate are just not acceptable at AFL level.
Not much has changed in the way we play from last year which is the major concern for me. A weeks a long time in football. |

A combination of a poorly and unbalanced side (too many talls up forward) and poor defensive structures still remain present.
Buckley is coaching for his career next week. |
Should win games with those stats, no doubting that _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

500k a year on a guy like Mayne did not show enough at Freo to suggest the money was warranted.
and as i sdaid at the time 500k a year on Wells at 32 as injured as he is....gee he is going to have to play out of his skin when he gets back . _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Yep.... that was a mark. Slot the goal and it was 8 points with plenty of time.
We were unlucky, nothing more, nothing less.

Bucks still can't coach - easy goals over the top - with coast to coast goals.
Team selection - too many talls on the forward line - Cox/Moore ineffective. Blair not up to it.
Umpiring - pathetic - just unfair.
And yet we only lost by 14 points. | the club chased him feels like the same thing we said year after year? What else feels like that? |

I don't ever knock anyone for being positive, I'm just tired of these "brave efforts"
We've been doing this for 3-4 years, coming close, battling away, then lacking class, polish and missing opportunities to convert
It feels like I could post the same things from that 2015 second half of the season and that we'll get "if we just tidy things up" or "we just got nutted at the clearances" from the coaches cliche masterclass
I don't see anything to get interested in or invested in from this performance that shouts out times are going to get better _________________ We just got nutted at the clearances... |

I reckon we did pretty well. We missed a little class forwards, especially early, and that was obvious when Faz started getting on a roll in Q2 and provided a bit. Our midfield monstered theirs all night, not a bad effort given they're the reigning premiers and won the whole thing last year based on their midfield.
Also, all three recruits did well for us tonight - and to think Wells might be the icing on the cake!
I like Blair's guts but I couldn't help thinking every time he stuffed up a forward 50 entry, if the ball was in Elliot's hands instead we would've got a goal.
The doom and gloom on here is the usual after a loss but I reckon we're ok - based on that performance we should get into September and we have a bit of improvement left in us so if we get a few players back and start to gel a bit more, we could go deep into September.
I hope we didn't run our guts out so much that we can't back up for Richmond, because if we play with half as much pressure as we did tonight we'll thrash them. Carlton are a rabble, and Richmond only won by 40 odd points

Thought mayne was ok. Laid some good tackles and kicked a goal. Harsh on Wells at least comment on those who actually play. How do you see de Goey. |

I left at 3/4 time due to the umpiring. I just got up and left. I'm not putting up with that cheating crap any more. If Eddie or the club doesn't publically bring this up, I'm done buying a membership. I'm an absentee this year due to personal reasons, but this garbage has got to stop. Good to see we got within 14. But same old coast to coast 3 men on their own goal crap that Buckley and his cronies have delivered fir 5+ years now. He won't last the half way mark if it continues. And the forward line continues to be an abomination. His can every other club get it right??? _________________ Est. 2002

Can't wait for the Buckley sycophants to come out and support him. The way the bulldogs ripped us up scoring effortless goals shows the disarray of our defence. Buckley should have tried to change things to stem the flow after they kicked in front following us hitting the front in the third. A class midfield, D class forward line waisting opportunities. Buckley, just go. You won't get them into the finals. Spare us the bullshit media conferences. Bring Paul Roos to the club before we are forced to rebuild again. Richmond will tear us a new one next week. _________________ Formerly LeighBrownBrigade |

The gameplane and defensive structure is still a major concern. The stats we enjoyed normally indicate a victory. |

Good
Pendlebury - sensational, 3 votes if the umps paid any attention
Adams - terrific in close
Fasolo - 21 touches, 3 goals, should have been 5 at his skill level
Sidebottom and Treloar - very good
Phillips - rising star chance
WHE - neat debut
Howe - great intercepting, disposal not always the best
Poor
Blair - should not play unless massive injuries
Moore - couldn't catch a cold
Cox - likewise
Varcoe - will have at least 2 weeks off and shouldn't be an automatic in when it expires
Crisp - poor skills
Goldsack - nice goal, very little else
Grundy - want more impact around ground
Out: Varcoe, Blair, Cox, Goldsack
In: Aish, Elliott (if fit), Broomhead, Scharenberg |
