I've been saying to my mates for a while that I'd have had Jessie a bit further up the ground as a high half forward/winger, he's got fantastic athleticism for his size and pretty decent skills, sitting him in the forward line and bombing it to his head in a one on one is a terrible use of his attributes and it's no wonder he was struggling.

As well as his stint down back seemingly doing wonders for his confidence, his intensity the last 3 weeks has been incredible, there was one play in particular on Saturday where he was outnumbered 3-1 (on our half forward line I think it was) and he managed to win a stoppage in a situation where us losing possession could have likely lead to a quick transition forward 50 entry for Geelong.

Great stuff Jess, keep up the good work mate.

It is weird.
In the pre season and at the start of the VFL we played him as a backman.
He did a half there and was sent forward against I think Melbourne.
It didn't work so it was back to the forward line after another stint in the VFL..
Everybody knew that Jessie had tremendous talent and athleticism, but it wasn't coming together very often.
