Yeah well, no bastard gave a tinkers cuss bout poor ol Fitzroy did they, years ago !? And Brisvegas is NOT Fitzroy, never was, I know four life long Royboys who dumped the LIons went they went North, supposedly became the Brisvegas Lions, when they will always be the BEARS !!

What's the point in paying membership dues if it doesn't benefit our club. Be warned, clubs will lose members and then everyone can be the same--Mediocrity forever!! SO angry if this comes in.

There's a fine line between equalisation and promoting incompetence. Why should we give a quarter of our revenue to other clubs? That's crazy. We would make 0 profit - infact probably a loss - if we gave 8 million dollars away each year. Ed's right - there's no point in making that money if we just have to give it away. Might as well make half as much as we do now and give no money away - or make a quarter and get some cash in return.

Its a stupid idea AND it will lead to less inovative ideas towards money making and less memberships - why would the club spend money (we now don't have) on advertisement for memberships we will get NO benefit from.

SO what's the answer? The answer lies in AFL driven leadership. The AFL underrights EVERY club, and for that they take 80% of the gate fees for every match. The same clubs will get hand outs each year, but it doesn't come from our memberships or sponsorships or any of the hard work we do. It would reduce our income somewhat BUT we would still be able to work hard at creating income and marketing without this being taken from us.

The Home team would take 15% and the away team 5% of the gate receipts. (Currently the AFL gets stuff all). Clubs still get their memberships and their sponsorships - so still try to make as much money and advertise and put back into the game - but the AFL makes enough cash to give the Bulldogs and Saints and Carlton yearly top ups so they can waste money advertising a product nobody wants (Head Coach at Carlton...).

Also, these clubs still try really hard to get sponsorships cause they get to keep this money too - if St Kilda knows it's going to have a minimum (subsidised) turnover of 15 million (for example) - why would they try to get a sponsor? They can just get 8 million from us and 7 from the Hawks and put emojo's or similar on their jumper, to connect with their fans better... or to draw squiggly lines at the pub after yet another loss.

Stupid idea and it needs a response with a BETTER idea, otherwise I'll demand my membership includes entry to the Bulldogs, Saints, Carlton, North home games too - on second thought, even their own fans don't want to go there!!
