Note to self...
If ever in Canada in winter and drunk as a skunk, don't venture outside as you may fall asleep in the -30 degree night like this Aussie girl did.
See there's this thingy called frostbite....

This almost seems too strange to be true:

http://m.theage.com.au/victoria/man-accused-of-murdering-masa-vukotic-punched-tony-abbott-in-2006-20150320-1m43sg.html

Stranger is how such a nutcase could have ever been let back out into the community (yes, I'm referring to Price).

LOL.

I thought you were referring to Steve Price.

Quote:
In an interview with an Age journalist a week before Ms Vukotic's death, Mr Price said that he was the man who hit Mr Abbott, adding that the incident had given him "new respect" for the man who would become Prime Minister.

"I hit him and he stepped back and shaped up like a boxer," Mr Price said.

"Then he dropped his hands and smiled, and said 'I've been hit harder than that on the football field'."

Mr Price, who remains in custody, said he had admired Mr Abbott's self-control, saying not many people would have been able to refrain from hitting him back.

Mr Price's story has been confirmed by a psychiatric nurse who worked at the Thomas Embling at the time of Mr Abbott's visit.

Interesting mindset that not many people would have been able to refrain from hitting him back. Actually a whole lot of people would do that, including pretty much every psych nurse, ED nurse etc etc.

Kudos though that for a Politician he didn't sook it up after.

Why was the Aged interviewing this guy a week before he allegedly killed someone?

That left me scratching my head too. Apparently he went to the media with claims of police brutality before the murder. No idea whether it was part of some twisted plan on his part or whether it was just a coincidence that he had a psychotic episode days later.

As for Abbott, would you really want to see the headline "health minister punches psychiatric patient", even if the other guy hit him first? I suspect most politicians would have resisted retaliating.

You misread me, I wasn't giving credit for not hitting back but for not sooking up.

I can't imagine the reaction if Pyne got slapped by someone, it would have been a sook of hysterical proportions. Laughing

Krudd would have been interesting. Tears and tantrum or just tantrum?

Abbott was a heavyweight boxer who was known as a fighter willing to take a punch to give one back. I doubt an untrained loony's weak sauce effort would've phased him.

One gets the feeling his boxing prowess is greatly exaggerated.

I mean it was bloody Oxford university.

His opponent was probably Stephen Hawking.

Laughing

But only after DTM softens him up for you.

This, big time.

http://m.theage.com.au/victoria/piercings-acne-monobrows-airbrushed-out-of-school-photos-in-daylesford-20150322-1m5att.html

Kind of ties in with our conversation about schools in the other thread. This is a how-to guide on how to prioritise school image over student welfare.

If I were a Daylesford parent I'd be campaigning for the Principal to be shipped off to Siberia.

My 15 year old card sharping uni-cycling friend Aiden has graduated to a new 46 inch wheel.
(he says he's 6 ft tall but I reckon he's closer to 5-11).

I was with you til I read this bit:

But Mr Holmes said the changes had been made due to school policy.

He said while students were allowed to have facial piercings, those piercings must only be studs, and cannot include rings, sleepers or hoops due to safety reasons.

"Next year, we will ensure that students have plenty of notice that they will only be able to participate in school photos if they meet our uniform policy," he said.

Rules are rules, fair call.
