If we do go after one of the GWS kids I'd suggest our first 2 DPs and Witts would be in play.
You don't give up Big Blokes that easily as they don't grow on trees.

Spot on. It takes some players five years to develop, especially if they're rucks or key position players. Witts is only in his fourth year. He could still be anything. I believe that having Witts and Grundy rotating with each other between the ruck and the forward line should remain an essential part of our structure. We need to persevere with them and be prepared to cop a little bit of pain along the way as they develop.

Agree the Two ruckman both playing together need time as they may be our point of difference over time

I would hate to see us let Big Wittsy go to pick up a mid.

I have followed the Pies for a fair while and I cannot remember two legitimate Ruckman, even Thomo & Jerker never really worked both were good but both wanted 80% as 1st Ruck

Thommo and Moore worked okay although both clearly at opposite ends of their careers.

Who do you suggest we give up for a "emerging superstar" then? Fasolo? Blair?

I mentioned Witts because he's from NSWs, also, Grundy looks like being a star, if Witts turns out to be a star in the future do you really want to invest a large portion of our cap on 2 ruckmen? Because I dont.

Trading Witts means we have ONE ruckman on our list
Good ones dont grow on trees

For the Cox lovers out there he is far from ready to play senior football

So he reckons we've offered Treloar 750K a year for five years.

A classy mid that kicks goals, reminds me of someone we once had.

We may not get him but great to see the club has identified exactly what I believe we need, another elite midfielder.

Add to this a young tall forward and we are done.

Since you mention it Smile

Stats comparison for Treloar's 3rd year vs Beams. Bear in mind that Beams was 3rd banana in our midfield in 2011 behind Swan and Pendles, as well as having Ball farming the ball out for him

Get Treloar.
An absolute superstar in the making.
Worth every cent of $750000.

We should go after Shiel. Is quick plus can play inside and out plus seems more homesick than Treloar!

Do you watch football ??
Treloar is a gun inside and better finisher than Beams at the same age.

Haha i posted this before i read page 2. Good to see the same thinking about Beams.
As soon as we lost Beams, minutes later I said Treloar had to be the one.
And we should have pushed hard on that day to make it happen.

Shiel is great and super super quick but Treloar is Pendlebury. Just pure class. And probably a better football brain.

750k for 5 years, i think thats good value. We could go higher, but hopefully its the right price, it won't kill the club. Its probably what Selwood is on !

First pick plus Goldsack i would imagine.
