We need a goal kicking coach IMO. A genuine goal kicking coach, ie. a Lloyd or someone similar. Pay them a mint, and they can hone the technical/practice aspects.

We had one but the conditioning staff overruled him and didn't allow the players sufficient time to train it, utter joke the coach should tell the fitness staff to make time for it in there overall program.

10 years ago players were training harder and longer and weree managing to get through the year just fine, i think we over compensate these days.

There are players who practice goalkicking on their own time, over and over and over and over.Just a few. I heard an interview with one of them once, talking about the hours they spend practicing.

Oh, which players? I can't remember exactly, but some of them were:

Davis, Didak, Medhurst, Thomas.

Shows, doesn't it.

You don't get it. TRAINING is about developing the skills of the game. That's why it is called "training". KICKING is a skill of the game. It is one of the most important skills there is. You TRAIN to learn the SKILLS.

You don't do a bit of kicking practice after training. Kicking practice IS training. Ubtil the club understands that, we will keep on kicking 4.17 and getting owned by scum like St Kilda.

he's not going to give up his cushy media role for a pay cut to be a goal kicking coach.

Could use him part time though.

It wouldn't matter as the fitness staff wont allow it, it's why BT quit because he wasn't afforded sufficient training time.

Bucks should look to add Lloyd as an assistant forward coach in 2012.

And maybe a review of the conditioning and fitness staff might be a good idea as well. Wink

It appears they've been practising their goal-kicking in the dark.

Last I heard, probably the most accurate forward of all time, Peter Mckenna, was still alive. Who needs Lloyd ?
