I believe that Beams is coming back to Victoria (the pull of his partner's family and for their children) but it won't be to Collingwood. I understand that Essendon is his preference.

Did Bucks and Beams have some issues ? I cant recall if something happened between them. Also heard on the radio today a caller suggesting Beams come back but only if Him and Bucks could shake hands. They didnt elaborate though...

| Not sure about the behind the scenes stuff, but do recollect Bucks publically talking about "stopping the bus if someone wanted to get off"... which was a reference to Beamsy wanting a transfer to Brisbane... |

Would love to have Beams back, but I cant see it happening.
Not sure about a prob between the two, but I dont think we can afford the trade that satisfies Brisbane anyway. And I don't think we can afford to fit him in the cap if we're going after Lynch and/or May.

Beams instantly makes us a better team.
Those on here who are bitter about him leaving that's fine, but don't deny for a second that he isn't an upgrade on the following players who have played senior footy this season on our list:
- Broomhead
- Fasolo
- Brown
- Daicos
- Varcoe
- Greenwood
- Blair
- Appleby
- Madgen
- Murray
- Wells
- Mayne

It’s things like this that demonstrate that you know nothing about football. Beams struggled, repeatedly, when the going got hard in big games. Sidebottom just gets better because he has actual skill. I couldn’t stand watching Beams be useless in big games when he was here the first time. Some guys just lack the necessary class to rise when it matters. Beams is one of them. I was thrilled when he left and can’t even begin to understand why anyone would contemplate bringing him back. He’s a poor man’s Shane Woewoedin. All he needs is the Brownlow to complete the farce. |
