Back to earth with a real thud, maybe some of our guys drank their own bath water, time to put the flag behind us , Fly will have plenty to work with for next week, some big lessons to be learnt from this match.

We unveil the flag next week and better turn things around. Looks like both grand finalists have had their pants pulled down in different ways in Round 0.
And by the way AFL, Melbourne is the centre of footy. This pandering to NSW and Queensland is a joke. Sellout games - my arse! Empty seats everywhere in all four games.  |

Yeah but I reckon Fly was one of the worst! Agree with staying in the moment, but every second video was fly. Gonna be a rough month IMO.

Markov’s kicking has been poor also tonight.
Really want to see something different in the last quarter. Spread the Forwards. Just leave Cox at FF with Bobby and Beau at his feet.
Send the rest to the 50m line and up the ground. Get the ball over the top towards Cox an let Bobby and Beau go to work. The played up the ground should hold their spot high to block the way out.
Have to try something different surely!

Beau needs to find a position, go to the VFL and learn to play that one position really well.
Not sure what his purpose is.

You can see the effort deteriorating with every easy missed shot on goal.
The forward line has been a trampoline and their lack of effort has enabled the GWS backmen to run off with confidence and in turn create pressure on our mids and defenders.

This game is a concern, in the sense that last year we came out in Rd 1 with all guns blazing.
This year, we have come out in disarray, as if we have lost all understanding of our system.
This has sapped our energy, and there has been little will shown to turn around the effort.
Worried by this start.

GWS have done well, but we have had at least 10 players well down of their usual form tonight. That wont happen again, and missing easy goals has ruined our chances too.
