I look at Pendles as the prototype for the Terminator Marc 1 limited edition. His mind calculates the degree of difficulty of every one of his options in a split second and he can float Matrix Style while the rest of the World is going around in slow motion.
I kind of expect that “Da Da Dum” music which accompanies Arnie through Terminator 1, 2 and 3 to be playing as another opposition player has the ball to let them know that Pendles is around and about to strip the ball in the style he did to Paul Williams in that Swans game last year.
Cue music - “Da Da Dum”
Opposition player poos himself. |

Star in the making, is Pendles. It's been said so often before, but the way he goes about his footy, he smacks of Dal Santo. |

Pendles and Ben Ried could form the most potent follower division we have ever had in this Club's history. |

Taken pick 5 overall in the 2006 draft, this 6ft youngster has a basketball background which is becoming more and more evident as he displays his evasive skills.
'Pendles' suffered from a bout of glandular fever soon after arriving at Lexus, therefore his 2006 pre-season was severely interrupted. Despite this he managed to slip his way into a pretty solid Collingwood line up and impressed in his 9 (i think) 2006 AFL games.
Nominated for the rising star (i think) - yet still eligible to win the award again in 2007. His 2007 pre-season match form has been of the highest order, clearly Collingwoods best in the NAB Cup Round 1 encounter vs the Kangas. He is a huge chance to impress enough to give the Rising Star award a huge shake.
The boy oozes class in the way he controls the footy and evades - giving him DalSanto like time and space. His skills by hand are quality and his vision with foot looks sound. Pendles doesn't lack courage.
It is an honor to represent this player on this board and Pendle's development will (with any luck) be one of Collingwood's 2007 highlights.

Round 1
Rating: 7
Scott was class (with a few errors).
Great start to the season featuring in the best 8.
Appears more laconical than DalSanto, heading towards Shane Morwood. Maybe its because he is that good that it looks so easy.
Found space, showed grit, really complimented Daisy, brought team mates into the game, created, was in the right space to be an option LOTS. Was used very well.
The week has seen calls from fans for him to have more game time, however WWWWWarning dudes, no-one wants to see him not continue to be in development mode.
Go Pendles!

Another Scott thread. So much has been said of him, but he took more steps tonight. I think he finished with over 20. His ability to move in and out of traffic is unbelievable, and his possessions are becoming effective. He is probably one of my favs now. |

Highlight of the game for me was watching Pendles direct someone to lead to the space he wanted to kick...and watching Lockyer (a senior player) take orders from him, lead to the space and get on the end of a perfect pass. That is something i haave only seen from nathan buckley in a collingwood jumped in the last 10 years. He is a future leader and a great finisher. Ashame he missed that goal _________________ There's more to life than footy.........just not much more. |
