BARFL Round 2 results Putney Magpies V North London Lions

Let me start by saying a big thanks and well done to the guys that played this weekend. In the conference game we held our own superbly and only lost by 2 goals 3 (9-12-66 to 11-15-81) and this bearing in mind that North expected to win by 100 points. This does bode well for the future and although we had to forfeit the first game of the season this weekends performance means that we are not bottom of the table. We were a bit short of numbers for the 2nd game but played well after borrowing a couple from the Lions although the scoreline won't reflect that the 2nd half produced a great performance and we kept them down to only 10 goals for the half and really started to gel and look like a team.


And of course a big well done to Roger, Jimmy and Jacko who made sure that Putney came away with even more respect and with our heads held high after thrashing the life out of both the North London teams in the Boat Race.

Training this week is on Tuesday at Hyde Park (Speakers Corner 18.30) and this Thursday at Wandsworth Park in Putney at 18.45/19.00.

After training on Thursday we are having a team meeting. Even if you can't make training itself please make it down to the Litten Tree Putney for 8.15 for the team meeting, it will help us prove to our sponsor that we can get numbers down too..

This weekend was a good start for the future we just need to build on it now..
