Yep, that's why our injuries haven't hurt us that much. The only guy that is irreplaceable is Grundy! Maybe Sidey as well. DeGoey and Stevo likely to join that class this year.

Injured blokes not worth 5 points?

^We will never know.
I was thinking from a longer season-long perspective. We've not been the dominant team. If we'd have pulled off 2018 I reckon it would have been an unexpected bonus.
We were the best team from halfway through 2010 through to the finals in 2011. Got a bit lucky in 2010 still after nearly blowing it.
My comment was that we are not the dominant team yet, compared to say a Richmond. We need a little more improvement across the whole team.

Having zero injuries is Richmond's only achievement in the last three years -- apart from getting Lynch and others to play for pennies.

Swap the injury profiles, and maybe we'd have two cheap, cheap, cheap premierships in this era of AFL mediocrity, and they'd have missed finals three years in a row.

I don't know why people rave on so much about richmonds flags its not like they won them when there were other dominant teams either. The AFL comp has been largely even these last 2-3 years very even tigers have been blessed I know but 2017 and 2019 will be the weakest flags won by a team ever.

Well, 16 & 18 were probably weak too, but at least 16 had a feel-good fairytale aspect to it.

17 and 19 were won by the dominant team. They probably would have won 18 as well if they were healthy. And they'd be looking good for 4 in a row this year you'd think in that event. That is an historically strong team. Adding Lynch to that team really makes them unstoppable.

It's all about the injuries. No injuries, playing teams with literally a dozen of their best 22 injured, means an A side playing the others' half-VFL/NEAFL/QAFL/WAFL/SANFL sides.

Some bottom club should have poached their fitness and medical staff.

Honestly, who were we missing from our best 22 and who would they have replaced? I'm not sure our team could have been any more cherry ripe last September. They just weren't prepared for wet weather footy in the prelim!!

Hmm... Googs, for starters. He may be overhyped and a bit pudgy, but he's probably in the best 22, right? Wink

And we can surely go on...

But the context was the very, very, very mediocre premiers, so we can look beyond our club (because we're not their only opposition) at e.g. GWS's injury lists the last few years. Their fitness and medical staff must be incompetent.
