Which of the BBL players is or could be in the SA T20 side?

(There are the never-ending questions about ABCdV's participation in the WC, of course.)

I'm guessing Miller might be.

Maxwell to undergo surgery to remove bone fragments from his left elbow.

Replaced by D'Arcy Short for the SA tour.

Looks like Miller, Steyn, ABCdV.

Boucher is quoted as saying that if dV is ready and willing he's in (for the WC -- I assume not before).

Bradsmith and Finch put on 80 for the second wicket in 8 overs. South Africa put on 89. Therein lies the story.

The sponsors will think that Starc should never be allowed to play a T20 game again - imagine bowling a ball like that to SA's only batsman and taking out his middle-stump with the 3rd ball of the innings. It looked like a loss at 1/2 with no batting to come and by the time MOTM Agar took a hat-trick (well-deserved - one caught on a long slog but followed up with an lbw and a slips catch), the SA batting innings looked like roadkill. He finished with a magnificent 5/30.

Australia seemed on track to make 240. I do not think it is possible for them to play Wade at 4. But for Starc and Agar hitting out at the end (they scored 24 between them from the last 7 balls of the Australian innings), Australia might have finished 60 runs behind the target they looked like they were on track to achieve at the end of the power play. Australia may have the same batting problem as the Stars - lots of talent at the top (perhaps the 3 best players in this form of the game in world cricket) but it seems that if the opposition can get through the first couple of wickets, the middle order may not be talented enough to sustain a recovery. Given the way SA was bundled out, though, I will reserve judgement on that for the time being - one wouldn't want to see a pattern of fast Australian starts tailing away, though.

Oz. 6/196. Smith 45, Finch 42.

SA all out 89. Agar 5/25, Zampa 2/9, Cummins 2/13.

Starc to QdK:

QdK was doing quite a good impersonation of Khawaja there, I reckon. (Good delivery, BTW.)

More media talk (M. Ramsey, AAP) of Carey being "captain-in-waiting" and that he has "long been viewed as a future national captain".

Hmm...

Is it having an average nearly as good as Faf’s over the last year that brings this to people’s minds?
