Why couldn’t they just make a donation and move on. They are adding new costs to an exercise where those costs could have formed part of their overall donation.
The NRL got it right with their bushfire donation. All proceeds from round one are going to the bushfire appeal. It should be that simple. |
Agree. That's a simpler and efficient solution to contribute to the bushfire donations. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

The AFL are donating $1.35m on top of the Origin game proceeds, along with $900k from the clubs and $250k from the players - total $2.5m plus SOO
NRL will do well to get 150,000 attendees for round 1 and it's 2 months away _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |

The myriad of problems and issues created by the bush fires will require ongoing financial assistance for many months (perhaps years) to come.
I agree with Pies 2016 though. It's actually just a form of self-promotion by the AFL that puts players at risk. Isn't that the main reason inter-state games were abandoned ie players and clubs didn't want to risk injury to their players? . Gil could donate a year's salary instead. |
