No surprise. We shouldn't have recruited him anyway. His body is done. |

Happy retirement to Daniel Wells.
It was a gamble that didn't pay off, but he always showed glimpses of what he was capable of over the three seasons he played with us. In the end, he played 15 games and kicked 16 goals for us which included three goals in his final game.
His best game with us was in the draw against the Crows in 2017 as the video below shows.

Thanks for posting that, Jezza! I already feel like I barely remember him playing for us, but that video does provide ample evidence that he could have been a Collingwood great in his last few years. All the best to him for what comes next, and thanks for the memories! _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Beautiful player. If we coculd have got him fit, we'd be looking at back to back premierships in a couple of weeks. We should have sent him to the German as soon as he arrived.
Good luck Wellsy. |

Ah. You're Glen McLean (1984). It all makes sense now. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Great talent but we never should have got him.
The money spent on Wells may have cost us Lynch.
Oh well, good luck to the guy. |

A bit like buying that classic car you always dreamed of and then never being able to get it to run quite right. |

A bit like buying a broken down classic car you always dreamed of and then never being able to get it to run quite right, because it's broken down.
What were we thinking? |

Geez I'd forgotten how bloody brilliant he was that day too. Thanks Jezza. The way he brought other players into the game is just amazing. Played 15 games for us and we won 11 of them. What an asset he coulda been. I'd like to think he and Varcs could hang around at Collingwood and make sure that our club is a place where the young indigenous talent wants to come to in the future. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'
