If I want the boys to play defensive, insipid and boring football Ross would be a good choice. His game style as a VFL couch would add little to develop our players to be able to apply the AFL game plan.

A good reserves coach needs to mirror the tactical nuances of the firsts so that players are plug and play. Fine if Ross agreed to that, but diabolical setup if he didn't do it.
